I was not having a particularly great day today. I was tired and a bit depressed, but now, after watching 10 of your beautiful videos, I feel rested and inspired. I too love your voice as one of your students mentioned. Your husband is truly a lucky man. My wife, Susan, loves your videos as well. I am a photographer and I forage for medicinal herbs and wild edibles in the state of Maine in the US. Thank you for teaching the younger folk what you know about nature. I believe that that knowledge will be needed in the not too distant future.

They are so much fun! Never tried one before, but I really want to do it again. We met in a self defence course (Krav Maga). Maybe a story for a video sometime, because its not the typical one, haha. The burgundy dress is from Bendiks great grandmother, so 1910 or something like that. Its a treasure, so glad you noticed it. Thank you for your kind words

Wow, I got to enjoy such beauty today through your skill & effort! I am housebound because of health issues so the beautiful places I see are through videos. My life has been enriched today by you & I greatly appreciate it. I don’t remember how you worded it but you mentioned something about how special it feels to return to a memorable place associated with your childhood. I have such a place that I hold in my heart. It’s my grandmother’s farm in Camdenton, Missouri, USA. Those memories run very deep, don’t they? I think the children are fortunate to attend your workshops, Viking Queen!

Hi Maria! Your video is absolutely wonderful. It’s not silly at all teaching this knowledge to the kids. What you and Bendick are doing is extremely important. Norway is a magical place and I love to see the scenery. Much of it reminds me of where we live but the mountains of Norway are so grand. There are some cranberry bogs up this way. Does Norway have Thimbleberries? We have them here but they do not grow everywhere. People pay big money for gallons of thimbleberries. Your Kulning is beautiful and it’s so cute that the student mentioned you have a Viking Queen voice. Now that’s a compliment. The railroad bike looked like so much fun to tour the country side. Enjoyed the tour of the barn Airbnb. So cool. Love the video! 🙌🏻🙋‍♀️

I've only listened and watched a couple of your videos. But the minute I heard your pleasant voice my first thought was that I listen to your soft pleasant voice while going to sleep, not at all implying they are boring, in fact the complete opposite is true. My listening pleasure is at night in bed including podcasts, etc. You will be a welcomed addition to that. If you don't already have a sleep video, you should imo. So Pleasant.

Children are wonderful ways of teaching us.

Your videos have caused me to fall madly in love with Norway. So different from my home in the American Midwest. I grew up here in the middle of endless corn and soy bean fields, but it is mountains that have always moved me. You and Bendik are very fortunate to have them so close. Thank you for another wonderful video.

@@Mariaandtheforest Jag kan berätta ett 'skräck expempel', från en gång när min man åkte tåg från Stockholm ner till Skåne. Mitt emot satt en man med sin lilla son. När tåget kommit ut ur Stockholm, utbrast den lille gutten helt betatt: "Titta pappa, en åker"! It became evident to my husband that the boy had never seen a field before..... Tyvärr tror jag att många barn bara lever sitt liv huvudsakligen i städer och har null kunnskap om naturen. So yep, I'm certain the 2 of you are doing a real benefaction for children! Ha en fin höst du med!

Such an interesting and relaxing film of your time away working. I was wondering how your cat manages when you are away, does a neighbour care for him? When you are out foraging is there any danger you might pick up a poisonous berry or mushroom by mistake? I was watching the film 'Phantom Thread' last night and mushrooms are picked and cooked that look almost the same as a poisonous one. Why do you wash so many towels, are they used at the classes? Sorry to ask so many questions! Thank you, Caroline

Thank you Caroline ♡. He is very well cared for by the other people that live on this farm that he already knows and is comfortable with 😊. There is no danger of this when I am foraging things I am familiar with, I would never risk that. I never eat anything I have not reasearched in depth. If am not 100% certain I do not eat it or give it to others. The towels are for the paper making, we spill a lot of water in the workshops and they need it on their work station 😊. We dry them every day. I hope that answered what you were wondering about 😊

@@Mariaandtheforest Hi Maria, he does look the most contented cat! Thank you for explaining about the plants and the towels. I always have questions and I find your films very interesting and relaxing to watch. A few miles away a group of people went into the forest four years ago and picked what they thought were chanterelle mushrooms but were jack o lantern fungus which to the untrained eye does look similar. They are still alive but the poison damaged their kidneys and liver which is what the local newpaper reported. You do have a trained eye and thank you again for your film. Best wishes Caroline.

I will be the first to admit is not cheap, but given the characteristics of your job, a big van will be more adequate. The major inconvenience I think beyond the cost is the distances in Norway, air trips will be faster to certain areas. If you can handle some discomfort, a small van like a Ford Transit Connect plus a trailer. It will be cheaper to maintain and more functional than a car (I am not objective, I plan to return to van life very soon.) Can't find the contact to the cabin.

I would love to have a van to travel in! And I do not mind a little discomfort. Actually we do not pay for hotel and car etc when we do this so right now it is not a problem with the costs, but it would still be so nice to have your own home on wheels
