As a New Yorker, it sounds like I could live and work in the UK without realizing I'm living in another country. I prefer bringing my own food, I don't particularly like eating fast food EXCEPT Pret a Mange. Cheers from NYC!!!

I bought all your books, including this one. They are nothing short of outstanding! Basically, you've provided a much needed bridge between Oxford/Cambridge ELT publications and REAL LIFE English, both general and professional. My heartfelt congratulations! I'll keep watching you! In the good sense, of course 😀

Right to Live & Work in The UK is basis. Having it. I can say FU to any&every employer. Given its The UK. Finding better one takes a week, sometimes takes an hour. Freedom of movement within a job market is priceless. World ain't FAIR. Some ppl do demolish jobbs or butchery 4 nat min wage. Others in 2014 do a twice refill into a pwr generator and a site sweep 4 800£ a week. Not a joke. Seb's a story. Would've carried plasterboard 11 floors. City park neighbouring scraper. I've quit. 4 both. I've sufferred $$ consequences by the agency. I've found a solar farm job within a week. Netting 550£ no weekends. Seb saved 2200 a month after tax & after room&board. I had to MOVE! Pay in over 100 new deposit. Loose 200 of last one. Live with Kev 4 a week or two b4 he LEFT. Leaving the costs! That IS the story.

Take note Foreigners.. The UK transport infrastructure is third world. Consistently late trains, overcrowding, rip off fares, delays due to 1000 reasons. Traffic jammed roads and never-ending roadworks will make your life a misery. High rent in highly built up areas with crime. Severe problems with parking your car. High cost of living. High fuel costs. Poor air quality. Lots more besides. It is stressful living, bad for your mental and physical health. You will spend your time living to work rather than working to live. Thinking of going somewhere by car during the weekend? Think again. Weekend roadworks and road closures, jammed up motorways etc will wish you stayed at home because you will either not reach your destination or be very late, tired and stressed out. The country is very stressful to live in. A new train link opened recently. It was supposed to be state of the art, new tried and tested signalling system, new trains, new tracks, the biggest transport infrastructure project in Europe. However, this new line is struggling to be on time due to signal failures, broken down trains, power failures and overcrowding. Disaster zone, and it's even worse in the poor North.

Would someone please let us know how we get a work visa. I would sell pencils to be able to live in the UK 🇬🇧 When I have researched it in the past there were tiers. You were required to be allowed into your country. It was very difficult, that was a decade ago. Also, has the quarantine on pets entering Britain been lifted. Thank you so much 😊 for any enlightenment of possible new rules.
