I am so surprised on the negative comments on this video. I applaud this young lady for coming to Barbados and work. As a Barbadian if I decide to go to Nigeria I hope I will be accepted. Africa and the Caribbean need to create meaningful ties. I think this is one way. I know some Barbadians are interested in knowing how to work online too. Would be useful for some guidelines. Yes, that is working online. They don't care where exactly you work. As long as you can prove the amounts coming into your bank account on your bank statement

Good question. That would be tough since I don't know a lot of workers, and salaries are private here but I will try

We are Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Many expats come here and may obtain work after. This is why they say the law is a fool. It depends on the community you come from and the one you are hoping to be established in. You would be surprised to see how these networks work! But no, non CARICOM nationals can hardly work in a McDonalds here. Are there any McDonalds here? But point taken : remote work and digital nomads are more able than not to stay here at length since they are not working for a local company. But the law is never fixed in practice. A reality worldwide. However it makes perfect sense to know the environment you plan to come to and have options open.

@@BelemaRonabere what many companies in the private sector do is advertise for skillssets that do not necesaarily exist on the island. Cleay though you are still correct that the govt wishes in the best of all worlds to offer jobs to its citizens rather than to outsiders. Many people forget that Barbados is billions of dollars in debt! Many Bajabs are unemployed. The digital nomad scheme is a way to increase foreign revenue as opposed to job creation as the key objective. Meanwhile the masses are beginning to become more involved in business startups.

Hmmmm… I can’t tell you for sure. I know for a fact that when I say I’m a Nigerian, I get asked if I’m a doctor or nurse. Not too sure of a pharmacist. Perhaps you could start your own pharmacy or teach in a medical university

This is silly. You would not say this to someone from Europe so why say this to her? Nothing wrong with Africans moving to the Caribbean. Having skilled workers benefits your country. No one is “taking resources”

@@Lauren-nr1wk because why i said that she was living in one of the island before and be she move to barbados she talk very bad about the island were she was living that was not nice i am from the carribben i am living here all islands have there own problems so i was up set i love africans some of my best friends are africans so she must be very cairful about saying things
