The goat is saying 'who me'. Little does he know that he is there for a specific purpose. I know you said that some people may be sensitive to that but you gave him a good life. Your family work as a productive team. I think there is great value in children being involved with growing and harvesting food they will eat. It teaches them so many skills that are as valuable as academic schooling and that comes from a school teacher.😊

Hey Janice! I just want you to know that the majority of us watching your channel think that Rebecca is an absolute doll. I love to watch her with the girls. She is so smart and always wanting to be a part of anything you all do like these potatoes for example she wants to help she wants to be involved that shows her intelligence, so don’t listen to any of the negativity that people say because you know and your family knows what a blessing she is in your lives. Keep up the good work, ladies you are such an inspiration to me you work so very hard sometimes I watch your videos and I am tired after, just by watching you all there’s no better education on earth than the type of education that you give your children rather that be in the classroom or on the farm . Each and every one of your children are simply brilliant ,kind and thoughtful it shows how much they love one another. Praying for a successful garden this year your friend Wendy, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Rebekah is such a good eater!! She is also adorable!! My daughter was a good eater too when she was little, but went through a phase of only wanting junkfood. Not that we ate much of it, but anything other than good food, she craved. So, I would remind her, eat good food first, then you can have dessert, etc. Always lovely to see you all! Blessings....

Janice, I have not posted in a while. I just saw your last video, and those awful comments. YOU, YOUR HUSBAND, YOUR CHILDREN, ARE ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL ❤❤❤ Please ignore the hateful hearts of just a few people. They are the minority. The vast majority of your followers (and friends) know that your family is just lovely, Christian people. You are such a blessed woman of God, wonderful Godly husband, and such beautiful children. Think on those things 🙏 ❤ 🙏

I agree with everything you said. It's sad that people choose to be negative when it's so easy to be positive. Even in the way Janice has handled this attack is graceful and inspiring. I haven't seen any of the kids being bratty or anything like that. We are blessed that they invite us into their family life and for someone to be so nasty seems crazy to me. It's obvious by the comments that there are very few negative comments and that to me is proof of how amazing this family is.

Janice - my youngest has an autoimmune disease that is triggered by chemicals, especially fragrances. So - we use wool dryer balls in the dryer with fresh linen scent essential oil I got from Amazon. Have also started adding a few drops to each load of laundry to give the clothes a fresh sent that doesn’t bother the kiddo at all.

Hi Janice & Shawn & Sarah...another homesteader I follow also has a squash bug problem and she shared a 'recipe' that she is having good success with, so thought I would share it with you. Use some dried hot peppers & dried cayenne peppers - the whole thing for both, along with a whole large bulb of a strong garlic - pulverize in food processor - put in a 5 gallon bucket with water - she didn't specify how much water, but maybe couple of gallons? - let sit overnight, then strain with cheese cloth - then add 3-4 squirts Dawn dish liquid. Put in spray bottle and spray both tops and undersides of the leaves and also spray the stems. (Do Not spray the flower as it can kill or ward off pollinator's too) Use every day for few days - it will take a few days before you start to notice less bugs - then do every 3-5 days - unless it rains then do after any rain. ****** Other options include adding lavender &/or peppermint essential oils to the mixture - & even a couple tablespoons canola oil which might help the solution adhere to the leaves & stems?. ******Option two is: 2 cups water, 2 cayenne peppers, let sit overnight. Strain through cheesecloth, then add 1 tablespoon canola oil & another 4 cups water. Spray as first option. *** another thought that you might not be aware of is: mulch provides an overwinter home for the squash bugs to live - keeping them right where you don't want them: in the garden for when you start planting again. Great video and such a busy time and so HOT!! Here too where I am on the west coast of B.C Canada - (Vancouver Island.)

My sweet and hardworking Janice, you and your family all working together in the heat and humidity on your garden makes me fell like 2 cents waiting for spare change as I do not have a green thumb and every single thing I’ve tried to grow dies before any kind of harvest. I love all the diversity of items you’ve planted as it’ll make a great selection for meals in the winter. I’m glad your goats weren’t able to get into the main garden and have a real celebration. I looked at the 10 day forecast for Poplar Bluff and y’all are in a world of super hot 🥵 weather for the next 10 days! Please stay as cool as possible, try to work as early in the morning as possible and drink to thirst. Btw, Andrew, David are becoming such tall, hardworking, generous and good to their family members. And, Sam despite going to college full time still makes an effort to pitch in the garden as well. Your daughters, lead by the ever talented Sarah, should each be given a special attagirl for working hard with their brothers, even 3 year old toddler, Rebekah pitches right in helping my smiling Abigail sort potatoes and later helps the ever sweet Anna Mae deposit potatoes in your storage room. Gosh, my favorite Missouri family, please stay safe for the next 10 days and I’ll continue to pray for each of you. With all the pieces of my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇🥵🥵🥵🥵

When my daddy had a male goat that started misbehaving he would take him to the sale barn. We didnt eat goat. We did eat lamb. You are blessed to have children that will help on your farm. I grew up doing some farming/gardening and its not easy in the hot summertime.

I would be a good homesteader if I had Sarah to help. The kids are really great
