Working for a chocolate brand at Christmas + Will I get to Argentina?!?

An update on my life over the past few weeks and how I am hoping the next part of my year abroad as an Oxford University languages student will go. A huge workload over Christmas meant it wasn't as relaxing as I would have hoped but there are only 3 weeks left of this internship!
Thanks to Leyla, Matt and Tim for all the work they do for this channel. The music and introduction as well as a lot of the thumbnails are all their work.

I would love to hear about how you coped with the period between Oxford interviews and admissions results. I am currently waiting to hear back and it is killing me! Loved the video.

If I’m completely honest, I cannot remember. I actually found out during the first lockdown during an online lesson so it was very odd and I had a lot of different things on my mind. My advice is to keep busy and keep working… that may not be too helpful but good luck all the same

You can go on a tourist visa you would just need to exit the country (ferry to Uruguay) around the three month mark!

Unfortunately, because I’m going to be undertaking paid employment, I need to get a full work visa otherwise the school wouldn’t be able to employ me

Hi Arthur, I have been offered a place for French and Spanish at Catz for October! I'm very excited, however I was wondering how you manage your workload? Also, how do you cope with so much independent work when having exams only in 1st and 4th year? I'd be thankful for any insights you could give. Thank you!

Ooooh lots of questions... Not to pass them off but you can probably get a good indication of how I dealt/deal with workload by watching lots of my videos. However, I think it's important to remember that you have to find your own way of managing the workload as everyone is different and it may take you more than a year to do that. Oxford is not like other universities and every piece of work you have to complete is usually carefully monitored and you cannot get away with not working. So, while the work is independent, your tutor will help to make sure that you are completing everything you're set to pass your exams in 1st and 4th year. I hope that makes sense and congratulations on the offer!

Arthur, good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the crash - been there, done that. An academic question- which A levels did you do in your 12th and 13th year in secondary school? Good luck with the Argentina internship. Best wishes. Jim Scalise
