No need for adhesion promoter? What should I use to attached side skirts that have clips too? 3M 4991 VHB Tape??

I trust 3M double sided molding tapes as the best premium product worldwide. I'm shocked by the number of counterfeit 3M products being sold. Not only the 3M tapes themselves, but so many products, such as body trims and moldings that claim to come with top quality 3M tapes for adhesion. I'm aware that it may be difficult to control and pursue copyright and patent infringement for these counterfeit product manufacturers, that usually originate in China, but can 3M not take actions against American companies , such as AMAZON, who openly allow these counterfeit products to be listed and sold by their company? These counterfeit products have no quality comparison to genuine 3M products. The products completely destroy the customer's projects and does serious damage to the 3M brand name.

Can it be repositioned after i've already put it on? Will it lose its sticking power?

Can we use it on the wall?

i wish you guys sold the 4611 in 1 meter rolls as i cant afford this stuff. i only need a little bit of it.

How is this different from BT100 ?

It doesn't appear to be too sticky.

How long does it take for full strength? I had mouldings tape holding back of buick side mirror, and it released in summer heat. Any ideas on a better product I should have used?

Ya. Screws. Double sided tapes are worthless. I tried gorilla , 3m and all don’t work well even on inside door panels

I use 30 pound extreme tape.the area wash and sanitize then dry with a towel. spoiler on my car still on i live in Florida and can go 100 without it falling off

@@dblood8529 Lowes it says extreme double sided tape a bit expensive like 15$ but it is strong you get it on there it ain't coming off unless you put your back into it

How is this different from VHB?

That's my question. It sounds like the VHB is a bit stronger but has no gap filling capacity because its a single layer. Im trying to stick hull protectors on my boat, got the molding tapes and now find out about the vhb.

@@andrewbrown6522 ive been trying to ask 3m company this question and they just dont respond. Im trying to install a spoiler so should i go with 3m VHB or 3m automotive? im so confused. Can't get any help

@@khe8969 The automotive isnt all that strong. I still have most of mine because it failed my adhesion tests.

@@andrewbrown6522 really? I heard the 3m automotive tapes are also vhb tapes. But not 100% sure

@@khe8969 I never had a problem with them in the bodyshop but for my current purposes, they wouldnt stick to HDPE. A properly painted and prepped surface is probably the key.
