SAUCE STACHE!!
Dawg you really take me back and remind me of Alton Brown's Good Eats. I watched thousands of hours of Alton and his show style really had this almost rapid fire straight to the point food knowledge bombs broken in between some playful/sarcastic dialogue. Also, I appreciate that you don't hundreds of cut together dialogue for like every sentence like other channels. Nice channel man, algorithm put you on to me and hope you grow!
Just recently came across channel and instantly binged like 5 others. Super entertaining. Appreciate the hard work in constructing what to say and more importantly, how to say it before you film. Natural presentation with witty words = winning combo
Great lesson handsome professor Shaquille. Word choice is powerful. Thank you for giving us the words.
Sometimes I call food *Mouth solid chew chew swallow* and drinks *Mouth Liquid slurpy slurpy* not sure if that's wierd or wrong because my family were food critic elites so they were specific with food descriptions.

This is a huge help. I always feel at a loss for vocab when tasting food.
You're content has found it's niche! I'm excited to see the seeds of your channel flourish into the million subscribers it deserves
I loved this. Being able to talk about your food, is a huge step towards finding more enjoyment in it. Standing by for round 2 of Words to Describe F&D
Love the variety of videos you put out
This is wonderful & wonderfully informative thank you
I really appreciate the editing in this video. The camera panning to a certain side for providing more space for example pictures.
I even picked up something here, which is awesome! I think cooking for 6 years now and watching endless Food Network hours (and online cooking shows), naturally helped me pick up some of the meanings in context, but it's nice to hear them all in one short video!
My subscription to your content was by far the best thing to come out of Quarantine.
All your videos are great and you make me feel like going and cooking
Finally found the right word for empalagoso (spanish for cloying apparently) although I'm not sure you can use cloying as verb. Such as "me empalaga" means to be overwhelmed by sweetness.
@Rc3651
3 жыл бұрын
The verb is "To Cloy". It cloys, it cloyed, it's cloying, etc. Examples might be "The pungent stench cloyed at his nostrils"; or "Jesus this cupcake is cloying"; or "Their romantic story was cloying".
I needed this video so much
This is a really great content. I enjoy watching it, even though I don't cook that often. I am not subscribed to many channels and after this video I thought I should subscribe to this channel and it turned out I already did
I don't think i will ever have a super duper in depth big brain culinary conversation, but i like your moustache and demeanour, and i will nod my head and say "mm yes totally" at everything you have told me
This video is pure gold
I have picked up some of these words though various cooking shows. I enjoy describing ordinary foods with fancy critic words. “Nutty” is my favorite, because, as you said, it both applies to actual nuts and browned foods?! I’ll add “challenging” to my vocabulary. Fantastic.
Those subs are stacking up and the sponsors are rolling in. Really happy for you, Shaq! Continue reaping what you've sown.
These shorter videos are criminally underrated but also maybe depict a man slowly transforming into Guy Fieri and I'm pretty sure that's just criminal.
It’s been one week.. why have you not racked up over 100k views. You’re awesome my guy.
Thanks for explaining 'challenging'...
Thanks for the video!

The way you deliver your lines are so poetic and succinct!! Are they pre-written, edited, and rehearsed? Also the camera work on this esp at 2:10 (the subtle zoom out and shift of the camera to indicate a different "paragraph" of the video if you will). You make me want to be a better writer. All this AND a lesson on how to carry a conversation with a world renowned chef if ever I get the chance to dine with one, in less than 6 mins? Dang.
Thank you for this! I’ve previously heard of some of these words but I definitely am adding these words to my lexicon when I review foods in the future! Look out world! There’s a new food critic in town! 😅😅❤

what a great video man
I was at a fancy wine bar and I was trying to describe what I liked in wine. This poor woman, a real professional, just stood there and politely watched me make mouth sounds at her. She then came back with a sample of Sauvignon Blanc, which had EXACTLY the flavor I was describing, and told me the word I was looking for is "crisp". Now I'm not scared to try new wine because I know what to look for on the bottle. That woman changed my life. lol
You've got an incredible way with words. Do you read off a script? Is this mostly good editing? Either way, you make it seem so spontaneous and organic. Totally admiring. Please keep making these vidoes.

Here are some words acknowledging that I have seen this video, and had a response to it, so your channel is viewed as valuable by the recommendation features of the platform. I lie outside the target audience of this video, but found it to be a useful educational or reference tool for others. I even watched through the sponsor's part that will not serve my region.

I took the quiz on Bright Cellar, and it looks like there are some important food descriptors you forgot to cover, namely "leather-bound books", "cigar box", and "forest floor": "This Garnacha is elegantly structured with dominant flavors of red berries, baking spices and leather-bound books. Secondary notes of cigar box and forest floor add dimension."
I can't stop staring at his mustache. It's like I time traveled and met a younger version of my dad.

Sour/bitter are specific types of astringent flavours. Tannic isn't necessarily either, depends what else is mixed in. I guess it's because tannins evaporate and you actually use your nose to detect them more than straight bitters and acids. You can go lick some bark to get a really good idea of what tannins taste like on their own! Quinine is also an astringent flavour without being really sour or bitter, and it comes from a bark, go figure.

I understood exactly what he meant by over-steeped tea, it has a very unique taste - bitter, metallic and "bitty" tasting. It leaves your tongue feeling like it has a coating on it.
