Welcome back Geoff. It's great that you gave us info on Merino wool and not just this particular brand. Can I ask how you feel about travel neck pillow. I've checked out a lot and there's 3 that I figured were good for light travel: Trippal, Cabeu and Embrace. I haven't been on a flight for more than a few hrs and wanted to get your perspective on these for longer flights. Great content as always. Thank you very much and wish you all the best.

I'm not quite back yet, I scheduled several videos to post automatically. Good question about the neck pillows. I don't usually use them because I don't like carrying around a pillow for weeks when I'm just using it for a flight. Ill use the airline pillow or blanket (if they have one) or my jacket. However I don't usually sleep well on airplanes and this is probably part of the reason. Pillows are often large or heavy, but I'd love to do some testing on minimalist pillows.

Please let us know how well this shirt performs on a trip. Like you, I have found that pure merino itches uncomfortably and I don’t like the look of shiny clothes. I’m hoping the fabric blend and pique weave finally make merino accessible.

Like every other wool shirt I've ever tried it does have a slight itchiness to it, but it's not bad and I get used to it fairly quickly. It's noticable when you first put it on, but after a few hours it's barely noticable. I've been wearing it with and without an undershirt, and they both work well. Also this fabric isn't shiny at all, which I like. My only issue is the fit. The XL feels a little large on me, but the L is a little tight.

Hello friend, do you prefer bringing 10000 or 20000 mpah powerbank? I only use my phone and not a tablet, to be better off do you think 20000 mpah is a better idea considering few hundred grams of extra weight?

I also use a phone and E-reader and carry a 10,000 mAh battery pack. It charges my phone 2-3 times for the day, which is more than enough for most normal uses. I also use the same battery pack for backpacking/camping. It will keep my phone charged for 5-7 days on airplane mode, just using it for a map and camera. Right now I'm using the Nitecore NB10000, which is awesome and is the lightest weight/mAh charger available that I know of.

Question from Indonesia.. is that comfortable when we use merino wool polo shirt in tropical country?

Some people use merino in SE Asia without an issue, but personally I dont' like merino in humid/hot climates. For me it's more itchy and uncomfortable.

For hot climates I would recommend a combination of merino and tencel, Smartwool and Icebreaker offers such t-shirts.

do these shirts pill under back pack straps?

I haven't had it do that yet and I've worn it a ton, almost exclusively on several multi week trips wearing backpacks a lot and I wear it at home a lot as well, no problems with pilling

Women travel now?! 😆 Haha, of course! Woolx is a brand I haven't tried yet. But this shirt has encouraged me to try different brands/styles.

@@OneBagTravels Just a subtle reminder. 😏 Rare options as _girly_ YT travel clothing "hauls" annoy me. I've purchased men's merino wool items in the past when I simply had no choice but there are a few brands out there.. SmartWool of course has always carried both gender's sizing. To finally see merino dresses is refreshing though. No need to purchase now but curious if they had reached out to you. Bit of a marketing push recently, possibly expecting late summer tourism resurgence.

@@IntriguedLioness I wish more companies would reach out to me! That's awesome though that they have dresses, I'll have to give them another look. After trying several merino pieces over the years I took a break because I couldn't find anything I loved. There are a lot more options now though, so i'm going to try again!

@@OneBagTravels I think people are really getting used to the idea of Merino wool as travelers clothes. The fact that they are anti-odor and antibacterial should be the number one selling point.. and the fact that I can wear a backpack under a Merino sweater and not have it pil to the point of damaged. I once accidentally wore one of my cashmere sweaters with a backpack and it's now relegated to walking the dog! Merino is truly the best! Cheers!
