I wore the exact same shirt for 100 days - Wool&Prince Review

Sustainable Holiday Gift Guide 2021: • Video
For 100 straight days, I wore the same wool t-shirt from Wool&Prince, without washing it. I wore it for more than 100 days as an experiment, a challenge, and out of an interest in minimalism and the environmental impact of clothing.

About Wool&Prince:
This t-shirt is a merino wool t-shirt from the company Wood and Prince. I guess it is what you'd call a premium t-shirt, as they cost $68 a shirt-the most expensive shirt I've ever purchased. As part of their marketing, Wool and Prince have what they call the 100 Day Challenge, wearing one of their shirts for 100 days without washing it. This works partly because wool is naturally odor-resistant and quickly dries, so sweat doesn't have a chance to build up and feed odor-causing bacteria. I've been trying to own less, and as I spent time online, I kept seeing ads for these shirts, so I thought I would give them a try.
Day to day, this shirt did not smell at all. After a week of wearing it, I was super surprised. And then the weeks kept adding up with no smell. One thing that helped was that this was not the only shirt I wore, which is allowed by the 100-day challenge. I just had to make sure I wore it for at least 8 hours each day, but I wore it for 12-14 hours most days. I'd take it off at night and hang it up to air out. Hanging it up inside out and in an area with more airflow worked best.

Update: After wearing the dark gray shirt for a few days it relaxed a bit (stretched out) and fits great. I also broke a cardinal rule of wool clothing and tossed the large shirt in the dryer for 15 minutes and it shrunk some and fits better too! Maybe not recommended but it worked for me.

Rather than trying to get a video out every week, a standard I self imposed, I want to focus in on quality. Maybe I’ll do a mix of “high” quality and more rough edit videos sharing my thoughts on a topic.

I am about to get some of the Wool& dresses, considering the 100day challenge but will probably ease in with the 30day lol. I would love to get one of these for my SO since he is very much a “I have 5 shirts & will wear them till they fall apart” person. Unfortunately he is allergic to wool. I will have to see if he reacts to the dress I get before trying one of these. (Of course if he has a reaction I just won’t wear it around him but it will be good for work)

I bit the bullet and bought two pairs of merino wool training pants to work out in; my hope is that I can get by wearing each of them 3 days in a row before washing at the end of week. I'm a college student who hates having to do large loads of laundry, but I also sweat a lot during my training and do exercises that involve a knurled barbell rubbing against my legs. I train in the morning as soon as I get to campus, and I plan on hanging the pants inside-out in my car all day with the windows slightly lowered. I'm excited to begin my little experiment soon; hopefully the pants are as odorless and tough as I would like for them to be

@@jayp9158 I bought 2 pairs of training pants from Nobull, but they were so thin that I knew they weren’t going to withstand weightlifting; returned them almost immediately I also tried the 10k cc Interval pants (I have a bunch of the shorts), which are not Merino Wool, but had absolutely zero odor after lifting in them 5 days a week for about a month. However, the fabric around the thigh and crotch areas are fraying due to barbell contact. I reached out to 10k prior to purchasing to ask about anti-odor properties, so I was very impressed with the performance in that regard I also have Merino Wool socks from Bombas. They develop a slight odor after 2 wears, but don’t get any worse as you continue to wear them; I tested one pair for over a week. I wore it during morning workouts, put them on after I showered, and took them off around the mid evening. Maybe the blend needs more Merino Wool All the pieces that I tested were hung in a locker with normal slits in them for minimal ventilation while I showered; they were still wet and sweaty when I put them back into my bag. I then either hung them on hooks or spread them out on the leatherette seats in my car and had the windows slightly ajar while I spent the rest of my day in classes and such I am going to several humid Asian countries and Hawaii in about a month. I will continue to test my Bombas socks and perhaps invest in Merino Wool shorts, a shirt, and boxer briefs (if they exist). Fingers crossed that they live up to the hype 🤞

I received my wool & prince t-shirts and bottom down shirt a week ago and I've got to say I love the material! I ordered both size M and L as I wanted to try them both and although size L fits better on my upper body it feels a bit too long at the bottom. Size M is slightly tighter on top but has the perfect length at the bottom so I opted out for the size L. However, the bottom down shirt regular (not slim line) size M is perfect for me as the L was way to buggy. Can't wait to test them out on a 15 day trip to Japan next week.

Good question. If you look at minute 3 you can see it is tighter, but still not what I would call high and tight. I think over time and not washing/drying made it larger. Also, the large was overall larger than other larges from other companies while the medium was a bit more true to size.

Costco in Omaha is selling merino wool long sleeve unisex Tee shirts for $8. In sizes small to XXL. Why so cheap? No one will buy them. I bought 5 for myself and my wife bought two. I asked a person working in the clothing and she said men refuse to wear any wool clothing including work shirts. The women said that wool itches or they are allergic to wool.
