Here's a woodworking project to build and sell. This one sells on Etsy. Not by me, but I show proof of sales.

Yours is the one I prefer; has a better look, more interesting. Good work!

Just wanted to let you know, that is an item from a re-seller, which are running rampant on Etsy of late. That same exact table (they didn't even bother changing the photos) is available on Wafair, Walmart, Amazon, etc. I can generally tell just by the photo, if it looks too "staged". This is kind of crazy considering how large that Etsy shop is and how long they've been around. My guess is that they started off as real handmade, then saw how much less work it would be to start re-selling. It's the new reality of Etsy, unfortunately.

Let us know if it sells! I really like both and I like how you changed it up to make a unique product. Very creative

I like your design better and would change it ever so slightly to make it hold my mailbox and a thing of flowers. A flat top mailbox is convenient for iced tea and other stuff I use often during the weekly mow. 😎

Looks good to me either way! I like wood furniture, probably wouldn't have a use for either one and definitely wouldn't pay over $100! Great job, thank you for sharing!

The shipping costs would suck every ounce of profit out of this project, or make it too expensive for anyone to want to buy it.

I like yours better but with the added pieces, definitely can't use that as shelf for much.

I like either one but the arch in your design gives it more character. While the item likely isn't that heavy, I can't imagine shipping it is cheap. I didn't get a good look at the Etsy page but I wonder, for $139, are they offering free shipping and that's why the price is so high? I sell on Etsy but only small items. My biggest box is 16"L x 12"W x 8"H. If I design anything new, I want it to fit in that box. I see other ideas I'd like to make and sell, but the size usually discourages me. My average shipping cost is probably around $9. Typical costs goes from $6.50 to $10.50. That's for a single item, which is 95% of my orders. When I ship 2 of my largest item, it can be $15-$18, depending on the destination. I don't offer free shipping unless it's with a coupon code and I don't have a problem with people paying it. I stay busy all year.

@@RonniesWorkshop which means that all of their items' prices are adjusted to make up for it. Thanks for the kind words. I started on Etsy in April 2023 so I'm starting my 2nd year. I sell bird and squirrel feeders and they sell all year. Bird houses, I'm sure, are more seasonal. Now that spring is here, my sales have been picking up.

I like your design better. The Test design has absolutely no access where your arch leads to. With the arch, you could add some accent lighting, put seasonal decorations, or many other ideas. I could even see adding a drawer in the arch. Most drawers would change the shape of the arch of course, but a drawer with an arched faceplate could be made, leaving the arch as is. You could also leave the drawer out at times when changing the look around. People visiting would often noticing something different and some would rack their brains trying to figure out what is different.

I didn't like either one. If you're going to cut with a jig saw you need to at Sand your jagged edge because that showed nothing but amateur work. Sorry but this was not good.

Those stats that you look at are not actual but estimated. Go to the actual sales for the site and you will see far fewer. You are promoting false hopes on this and other projects.

@@RonniesWorkshop Ronnie, would you suggest Everbee a worthwhile tool for a beginner woodworker to pay for? BTW, do you ship your products directly to customers or arrange a place for them to pick-up?

Unless you plan on selling on Etsy, I wouldn't recommend getting it. I don't sell woodworks on Etsy but have another shop selling different items. So, since I have access to it, it is useful for getting the stats on woodwork items and gives me ideas to make videos on. As far as selling my woodworks. I do it locally through FB Marketplace and I always have the customer pick it up at my place.
