I am subscribed on the Growth Plan because I use it so much. It is a great value because I never feel like I am guessing on a product. It also helps me price things when I get custom requests. However, the free Hobby plan may be suitable if you don't plan on using it a lot.

Been making the book tents out of pallet wood. Engraved with book quotes… Tolkien, Poe… sold pretty well so far.

I love wood working. Primarily wood turning and carving. The part I don’t like is trying to price items for sale. Most of the time, my projects get given away to friends and family. You certainly make it easier to get some kind of idea what others are selling and reasonable prices. Good video.

I don't think you are alone when it comes to figuring out a fair price. I struggle with it as well at times. It can be very difficult to estimate how long it will take you to build an item the first time you do it.

I started out doing wood carving, then moved into wood turning which I really enjoy. The carvings take so much time depending on the project that trying to base a price on time invested gets my brain hurting. I have made some of those page holders for books before. They are pretty fun to make and the sky is the limit as to unique touches you can make to set apart from the ones you see online. Channels like your help others like myself that feel awkward when it comes to pricing. Again, your videos make a difference. Subscribe easily earned.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I wonder why you have only so few subscribers after 90+ videos. I know Etsy (who doesn't?) but I've never heard of Everbee. Do they provide only information on sales over the last month? November and December sales might differ a lot from sales in the other months, because of the Christmas holidays. The items you showed are nice gift ideas, which maybe do not sell at all (or much less) during the other ten months of the year.

I am not sure why my subscriber count is low. 36 of those videos are shorts, which I have trouble getting much traction from. I know my earlier videos were probably too long. I usually just make videos of items I need to make in my shop for gifts or to fulfill orders. Some of those might just not be that interesting lol. I am trying to get better with every video and trying to learn as much as I can from each one. Things have really started to roll since mid October so hopefully the improvements are working. As for Everbee, I am not exactly positive how they estimate it but I am guessing they scrape data from listings and see how much inventory is listed then compare it to the previous scrape. That is just a guess. Some of those sales could definitely be Christmas. One little trick to see if it is still selling is to look at the listing. If the item is a popular item, right above the price Etsy tells how many people have it in their carts or how many people purchased it in the past day. Nothing is definite, but it at least can tell you if people are buying it. Thanks for watching and for the discussion!

I use Superclear Epoxy. I have tried numerous kinds over the past few years and the quality and price can't be beat. Here is a link: amzn.to/3HeW1uG - I do have to state that it is an affiliate link . The price as of right now is $69.35 a gallon but they have a 15% off coupon

I am personally doing a lot of custom work locally at the moment, however I am working on shifting to primarily tables, just because my shop is set up best for that. A lot of my work comes from word of mouth and social media. I have a few extra items I had made in the past listed on Esty but it is more just to get those items moved. I personally have little desire to mass produce 1 or 2 items, but still feel these videos have value for those who do want to do that because it can help show if there is demand there and can help validate your ideas. My passion ultimately comes in teaching, and would be a dream realized if I could just make videos showing how to make things for the woodworking community. Thanks for watching and commenting!

If you don't want people to make them, then don't put it on here. That's why they get on here.

You can do what you want, I'm definitely not saying don't make them, so I am sorry if that is what you thought I was saying. I'm just saying it would be good to do something to make yours a little different. For example, if you are making the book holder you could maybe make a little tray that pulls out that could hold glasses, a pen, a highlighter, etc. Make a spot in the front where you could set a cup of coffee or find a way to build some personalization into it with a name or maybe a favorite quote engraved into it. Thanks for watching!
