Rub the screw over a bar of soap before trying to drive it in. It will make it slip right in. But a flathead screw is still bold choice!

My three year-old granddaughter commented that "glue is very, very quiet". She also pointed out when he was squaring boards on the jointer that the boards were rectangles, not squares. She's not very impressed with Drew.

Nice! Had one like this in my house growing up. I can't decide if I come for the woodworking and stay for the dad jokes, or come for the dad jokes and stay for the woodworking. Either way, it's a win.

This is exactly how I felt when my dad introduced me to Drew's videos. He's always telling me some anecdote from a video he's watched that I don't particularly care about (he's disabled so he spends most of his days watching KZread.) I just happened to be walking through one day and caught one of those silly jokes, and 18 months later, I don't miss a video!

The Danish word for chair is "stol" and a stool with steps like this one is called "trappestige" (step ladder). And Danish Oil isn't Danish! Just like Danish (pastry) is called "Wienerbrød" (Bread from Wien/Vienna, Austria). If you didn't know, now you do! :D I know my version of this stool/trappestige will be a far less perfect build, but hopefully solid and used a lot and therefore perfect for my shop :D Thank you so much for another great video/build and inspiration (y)

I recently bought the plans for this and am starting the build this weekend out of 8/4 red oak (that I got from my neighbor, lol) .

Hello from Ohio, Drew! I've been subscribed for about 18 months (though I did just accidentally unsubscribe today, I made sure to subscribe again 😂) My dad is disabled and spends most of each day watching woodworking, outdoor building, camping, metal detecting, car restoration and cooking videos on KZread. He struggles with some pretty severe depression at his inability to do the things he used to, like work with hand tools, stand at a machine and create, or even something as simple as sleep on the floor of a tent. Woodwork is not really my thing, but one day he convinced me I HAD to sit down and watch this HILARIOUS video he had found, and ever since, we both have never missed an upload from you. Your puns and Dad humor always bring the mood up, no matter what it is to begin with. Thank you for bringing joy, and a few times tears of laughter, to my father, who lives vicariously through you and the other folks he subscribes to. I can't possibly convey how much your content means to us. Also, holy CRAP that is a huge wolf spider!!!

I'm a nurse and the stool sample and stool jokes had me in tears laughing. You silly, ridiculous, genius!

Still have my Dad's stool that looks a lot like the one at the beginning. It's been around for a day or two, I'm 73. Hang on to that stool.

Another fine job Drew. Going to purchase the plans for this stool. I have 3 daughters and will make one for each . Long after I am pushing up daisies I want them to have Daddy`s Stool within arms reach when needed.
