In this video I demonstrate how to make an awesome trick box. Once the lid goes on, it's locked! No matter how you tilt, angle, or hold the box, the lid remains locked... unless you know the secret!
Please consider sharing this video with your friends, we both know they'd love to see it too! :)
Check below for the free plans to build it yourself...

Very nice project. One suggestion - put a small piece of felt where the nails hit the sides of the box to silence them so there's no hint that something needs to move inside.
Wow, this old video shows how you improved in everything, specifically extra pounds. The best channel now. Thank you and keep it up.

Great fun :) I will try this. Thank you :)
I am glad you include your outtakes including the fires. Other youtubers make me feel inept with there perfect videos.
So, after the build & reveal, the best part of the video screened. Now all those who think magic happens easily in a woodshop are enlightened on what it takes to get to the finish line. Well done. Loved it
I like your style of comedy... fits my personality. Also, I know there needs to be a balance, but simple free plans like this really brings people in. IMO.
YOU WIN!!! For most tools used in DYI KZread video!! In all honesty, great craftsmanship and instruction. Keep up the great work.

"OH CRAP, set it on fire again!"... lol you have the best youtube personality! Love the content
Great build. My 10 year old son has recently become obsessed with :puzzle boxes." The looks like some we could build together. Great job!!
I made this and gave it to my son in law as a Christmas gift tonight. He loved it and everyone loved how the locking mechanism worked.
Fun little project, Drew, and a clever locking system. As for the broken belt sanding belt, all's not lost, cut it up and use it on your block sander....

Exactly what I did!
I literally gasped when he showed how to unlock it! Really cool
You always amaze me lol. You humor 🤣 is what sets you apart from other woodworkers
Love the outtakes. They give a little reality to the build.
I have started making these types of boxes for the kids in my neighborhood birthday gifts, they are so much fun to make.
Loved the project and the added locking system. I plan on making one. Fortunately, I have some floorboards laying around. Thanks

Go for it!
I made one of these in shop class back on Middle School. Found the box while doing some spring cleaning (Quarantine!) And couldn't remember how to open it, haha. Thanks for the video! Finally got mine open.
Love the out takes because that is what really happens
Great achievement
Awesome little box. I literally was amazed at how it opens. Very clever design.
another thing of beauty Mr fish and I love the outtakes please keep doing them there's nothing more human:)

Many thanks, I've been looking for "plans for simple wood projects" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Yanathew Wood Waggler - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now )? It is a good one of a kind product for building amazing sheds and your own wood work projects without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got amazing success with it.
Made one for one of my grandsons for Christmas; I'm sure he'll love it!! Thank you so much--love your channel!!
Now I have an idea what to do with the pile of scrap hickory flooring a friend gave me! Nicely done!
Cool box. I like the out takes too

Clever design!! I for one would never think that centrifugal force would do the trick.

Nice video
Worth watching just for the outtakes LOL
Love the outtakes! Thanks for posting them :) Hard to realize sometimes that everyone has the shop snafus going on. Burning pieces and things flying around! LoL!
super cool!!
My grandpa used to make wooden puzzles and used this method in one. He died right before I was born and no one else asked him how to do any of it. Thank you.
SWEET! Very cool - you are correct. Nicely done.
Thanks, Loved the trick. Mostly it is magnets or levers. Also admitting that it takes a few takes in making a good a video. The tools on the wall, so neat. Grandma would be so proud of you.
great and thanks
Brilliant no useless chatter, precise and to the point.

Love that simple but awesome I think everyone loves the spin move.
Great project!! Looks like a fun weekend project.
Too COOL YES
Hi Fisher, I stumbled over you channel a few days ago and I liked you from the first video. Cool projects, cool guy, funny, not afraid of making fun of yourself, honest enough to also show the outtakes - and not only the things that go wrong with the filming but also with the woodworking. Way to go!
Thank you Mr. Fisher!
The way you narrate your videos makes woodworking seem not as hard I pictured it would be. I swear you're like the Bill Nye of youtube projects/tutorials. I hope 2020 will have many more to come.

Awesome box. A long time ago I bought a small toy in Missouri that was based on this same principle. It resides in Jones Barbershop in Pensacola, FL where it continues to puzzle customers today. Young and old alike have fun with this. I plan on building this box.

Your videos are by far my favourites, keep up the great content!
very cool vid! No crap, just good instruction...Thank YOU!
Thank you for sharing..... LOVE it!
When I was a kid I bought this trick piggy bank box. It was a small box with a coin slot in the top and the only thing glued was a mouse trap on the bottom. You set the trap and put the box together and insert a coin; then the mouse trap causes the sides and top to fall. lol. I thought it was cool as a kid but this is so much cooler. Thanks for sharing!
Love the out takes.
LOL love your videos and it’s well worth watching to the very end!!
very cool
Awesome! And I love the outtakes!
Terrific box Drew. I will buy the plans now. Thank you.
LOL, love the outtakes! Great little box. I have zero talent for wood working but loved watching.
Very cleaver build. Thanks! And thanks for the outtakes! That's real life!
Doesn't get old Drew. :)
That is a very interesting box! Who would ever think to spin a box to get it to unlock?...Really cool!
Great project.... beautiful work....I WANT ONE.... I guess I had better get busy.... thanks for sharing
What a great idea, thanks Fisher!
Thanks Drew. This is a awesome design for a trick box. Your instructions made the build go real fast. I made a couple other centrifugal boxes with marginal success. But this one works great. I made a couple of modifications that worked well for me. On the bottom I used 1" square feet with felt on the bottom of them. I put 1 foot in the middle and doubled the felt so it was slightly higher this allows it to spin real nice. I also, cut the channels attached to the top in half and put a piece of cardstock between the halves. This prevents the rods from sliding beyond half way into the channel. The rods were occasionally not sliding out when the box was spun.

Sun, and Rain. very nice.
Brilliant just brilliant. Robbie from Huyton UK keep them coming....
This is a great concept and looks like a pretty simple build. I may have to put one of these together some day!

Yeah, this is still one of my favorite builds even though it's just a little box. It's just fun to hand to friends that come over to visit and say, "Here, open this for me" and watch them try to figure it out. And even though the solution is so simple, it's always mind-blowing for them when they first see it.
Agreed. That is too cool. I love stuff like this. I'll be making these for sure. Thanks.
Very creative! Fisher, your outtakes are friggin hilarious!
Nice easy clean project.
Thanks for sharing that. Awesome design!
too cool !
The box is cool but the bloopers are GOLD!
