Woodworkers Mill | Portable Sawmill | LOGOSOL

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Woodworkers have unique needs when it comes to milling lumber. This sawmill from Logosol gives you the capability to control your project from the raw log to the finished product.
The Woodworker's Mill is a woodworking tool capable of quartersawing, resawing, cutting curved lumber, bookmatching, cutting perfect bowl blanks and more. Plus it's fun to use!
This mill is perfect for short, fat logs, where lots of lumber can be found at a minimum price. The legs of the sawmill are closer together than the M8, making it easy to mill these shorter logs that are full of premium lumber.
This unique woodworking tool deals specifically with logs that are 1.2-2.4 m (4-8 ft) long - logs that fit easily into the back of a pick-up truck. We heard from many woodworkers they did not need a full-sized mill - but they did need a mill that would provide them the ability to produce their own unique lumber from their own logs. Logosol answered this call for a smaller mill, but one with full-sized features - The Woodworker's Mill!
With this woodworking tool you can realise your wood working plans and free your wood working projects!

Wow! =) This is really cool! My research of historic sawmills for my steampunk novella brought me here, so this is very useful for a small family business I'm describing! Thank you!

Hey guys, can you tell me how the outboard end of the chainsaw is kept level all the way to the end of the cut?

I noticed as you raised the log to be cut. You said 5 clicks would give you 1/4 inch of raise per click. But my point is, The handle is wrapping a rope around a shaft. When the rope starts to over-lap, it is actually moving up more than 1/4 inch, because the diameter changes since the rope is over-lapping itself. So, it may be not be accurately repeating the 1/4 inch of rise.

I dont think the click is dependent on the rope winch. The click is the dog catching the vertical gear spline.

Anyone with the proper equipment can definitely to this a try, also there are quite a few neat plans you can get from Woody Hyezmar's (free) Woodworking Bible.

When you start cutting your log, instead of squaring off the log, why don't you just establish a flat spot and then start slicing it into boards? If you didn't trim the whole log into a square, you would have wound up with some boards wider than the others. I thought the final outcome was to get as many board feet out of a log as possible. Thanks. One of these days before I die I am going to purchase a small sawmill so I can cut my own lumber for my woodworking projects.😀

i'm sure that Greg is the voice of Kermit the frog. Close you eyes and you'll see Kermit talking into the camera. Great mill though and to all the people saying get a band saw mill, it's all about available funds and transportability. This fits on a car roof rack and even with a chainsaw, its half the price of a static bandsaw mill in the UK

The wood ahead of it isn't cut yet and the wood behind can only sag so much. The only place it can fully fall is as he finishes the cut and then the piece is lose, all it could do at worst is kick the board away from you a bit.

you can put a wedge in the cut after you have entered the log about 1 foot. It wont start "collapsing" till the end of the log.

I would love it, but unfortunately the cost for the hobbiest is really high. The mill plus chainsaw runs about $3000 vs. $1,600 for a portable bandsaw mill from Harbor Freight or $2,800 for the better bandsaw mill from Woodland Mills out of Canada....sigh....

Cutting hard wood on a chainsaw mill is a REAL pain. The chain gets really hot, leaves residue on the sword, and the sword can wander out of line. Plus - you have to sharpen the chain really often, On soft wood, i prefer the chainsaw mill.
