Good review Sam, I,ve been using Ack,s Wood Paste for about 2 months great stuff. I put the polish paste on and let it dry for about 10 mins. then buff off. That seems to work great.

@@SamThomasTwistedCraftsUK if you work at it a bit longer than on at one speed and off , work at it more like YG slower speed to faster before taking it off and then put another coat on will going at the fastest speed but work at it lightly it works well on the resin, then hit it with your micro fine

at least until Ack's gets that resin paste out and about to everyone, I gotta do a review or at least a better one for the paste and restoring paste, I think I'll follow the directions as you have on one side and then to what works for me on the other, Direction BAH Who follows the directions anyways ! LOL

Lol 😂😂 yeah looking forward to trying out the resin paste especially if it cuts out all that micro mesh sanding. Gonna have a play around with it and find out work works best for me, been told about leaving the polishing paste on for around 10 minutes then taking it off gives great results so gonna give that ago 👍

I like to sand many of my projects to 3000 so if I use the abrasive paste with a grit of approx 1000 will I need to discontinue the grits higher than 1000? Depending on the type of wood and my developing skill level I may start at 60 and then move up the grit levels to 3K. Thanks for sharing. Great job on the bowl.

I start my sanding at 120 and work up to 240 sometimes 400 then use the paste and restorer and apply a finish I find that works best for me. I personally wouldn't start sanding again after the paste as the whole point of it is to eliminate some of the process of sanding. trial and error is the only real way to find out I suppose 👍👍

The quality of your work is outstanding. Good for you! Do have some curiosity regarding your lathe. What is model so I can google it? The bit I've seen of it, looks like the lathe I own, but with a different badge. Also maybe like the Ackminster 1428(?). Just curious, as I've not seen many reviews. A lathe as good as mine should have gotten some notice.

Much appreciated, Barry! The lathe I have is the AT1416vs which I believe now is the AT350WL I think the lathe is brilliant couldn't say a bad word about it to be honest. Is this the one you use?

@@SamThomasTwistedCraftsUK I use a USA branded lathe, called a Colt 350. It has a one horse motor with a vfd controller. It has a movable controller and a digital speed readout. There are 3 pulleys to change speed ranges. What I have looks identical to the Axminster lathe, just with USA threads, not metric. Without seeing some good shots of your record power, all I can do is think that what you have is the same as mine. I need to see if I can find yours on the internet

@@SamThomasTwistedCraftsUK so, the at1416vs is my lathe!, just with the thread differences. The blind woodturner also use this lathe. Seems a shame that there isn't a stronger push in the USA market. I'm of opinion that it's the finest midi out there

Nice video Sam good review there are quite a few of these types of products out there on the market and it’s good to see how they all work. I’ve been using headstrong abrasive paste for a while now and that’s really good plus it’s from the uk so shipping is easy and affordable just another option you might want to try out. Drop me a message on my YT channel, IG or FB and I’ll send you a sticker for your board or grab me at Makers Central this weekend if you’re going. 👍🏻

William Ellis I know. When I was in an office, the term was used a lot.....by the guys. The female gender rarely used it. Think of it this way. From now on we now use the term gals, and expect it to cover the males too. Okay?
