So sorry for your loss. I lost my mom 3 1/2 years ago, and my father is now in hospic care. When you think of him, do what I do when I think of my parents, remember the good times. Celebrate his life. Tell stories of all the times he made you smile, or made you laugh. Or just retell any corney dad jokes he may have told. Keep his memory a live and smile every time you think of him. Much love to you and your family.

Urns are one of the hardest things we turn, I wish we never had to. I was honored to do a pair back in the spring for my step dad as well. I'm pretty sure the time spent working on them helps us to deal with the loss much better than most. I am sorry for your loss, keep your chin up and keep moving forward no matter how stuck you feel during this time.

When it finally dawned on me where you were going with the stand I was blown away. You are incredibly creative. I grieve for your loss. I was in the same position a few years ago. I turned my Dad's urn as well. I wasn't sure I could do it. As I shaped the wood though I felt a great connection with him. You have a lot of time to mindlessly think when you are absorbed with a project. It gave me an extra amount of comfort knowing I took care of him. As I hope for you in knowing you created such a beautiful tribute for him.
