He's honest and to the point, and while we can hear it in his voice that he knows what he's doing, he's humble and sounds like he wants everyone to try it for themselves and enjoy being creative :D and I love that. he's teaching us little by little over time :D

My bottom dollar to donuts consistent stretching will change your life. It did mine. Stretching my back, neck, and legs fixed my shoulder and wrist. I accidentally realized and recognized the relief in my wrist and shoulder, Stretching my back. Little by little, more each day. It will be painful at times, but don't quit, or overdo it; hydrating really helps speed up the process and lubricate your moving parts. I thought I needed surgery for years, and that I'd die with the pain. Just needed to actually stretch, and hold the stretches; you'll feel yourself get longer. I can do splits now at 42 not even wanting to be able to, after doing manual labor since I was 17. Once you get the stretch bug, and feel the relief; my jaw even feels better when I chew! I was all knotted up. I love your videos, I do not mean to push my fix on you; I just want you to get better. Love this vase, and really everything else you have done really!

Absolutely stunning, Jim. I love the streaks of gold into the rim. I almost would like to see some of the side gold bits extended more into a more random pattern rather than leaving them strictly horizontal just to create a bit more movement as there is on the rim. Well done, as usual. Love the translucence, too.

I really love this, it’s beautiful. I was just at a restaurant and they had some blown glass hanging light fixtures from Juno Lighting, that look very similar to yours. I don’t see why someone couldn’t use this instead of the blown glass. It would be cheaper that’s for sure. That gold resin really looks better than the white you used last time. I’d make a note of this, it’s not often a husband can say he was right and the wife wasn’t. Lol

Jim - This piece is just phenomenal! Dremeling the cracks and filling with gold was absolutely the right choice. I love the way the gold echoes the color of the pine cone petals. I like the end result so much that I wonder if you would consider “manufacturing” cracks where there aren’t any filling them with a contrasting color? I don’t think you could ever go wrong with gold or other metallics but I’d like to see you experiment with other colors too - maybe something like emerald green with the periwinkle purple or yellow on green. The possibilities are endless. P.S. Sorry to hear about your arthritis.

Same thought here - that gold was a showstopper! So pretty!!!
Great work, Jim. A few thoughts: 1) When you blow out the inside if you use your dust collector hose or shop vac you can suck up all those shavings as they blow out 2) you might be able to sand the major part of the inside with a flap-sander on a drill 3) have you ever tried NOVUS 7100 Plastic Polish Kit - it leaves an exceptional finish on a piece with that much resin 4) the gold looks fine and the wide bit was a good choice - but, you might want to add more lines next time to get the "marble vein" look ... that would have set this piece off even more. Keep up the good work. Your videos are always a joy to watch!

😍🥰🤩 what more can I say! That Periwinkle is absolutely beautiful! Dremel’n out the cracks and filling with gold adds a rich contrast but not distracting the beauty of the piece. One of my favourite things about watching these videos is when the process itself contributes to the creative vision, as with the cracks turning into gold-filled gouges. Whether it was part of the original vision or not, the end process is that much more representative of the journey. I also adore how the epoxy ends up being translucent! The hints of it I can see from when you showed the inside of the hollow form make me want to see what this piece would look like in a dark room with a light source dropped into the top-I can only imagine that the glow would be beautiful. And big congrats to your daughter! 🎉

The pressure pot compresses the bubbles so small that you can’t see them. It will also push the resin into areas that it ordinarily wouldn’t flow. This is why most Woodturners use pressure pots. But a vacuum chamber is a necessity as well. Thanks 😊
Good choice on the Gold for the cracks. I like it when the cracks are made more straight edged like when you draw a lightning bolt. Makes it look more like a seem of gold or gems in a rock! Very nice piece indeed 👍👍
