Woodturning - A Coffee Mug
This has to be my most requested project both on and off YT, so here it is...a coffee mug, with a handle.
The mug is made from a small apple log with plenty of burl, the handle is also made from burl but with a Pewter centre piece.
The mug is finished with Pure Tung oil, this oil is food safe and provides a very good water proof coating, the only downside is the time taken to apply in at least 5 coats and then around 4 weeks to fully cure, however once done it provides a very durable water proof coating that can sustain hot drinks etc and hand washing.

Now I understand why things cost more when it’s hand made, that was a lot of labor for one mug.

Yep more than that using lathe machine and making it accurate to setting is important. Otherwise you will end up with a wrong product with more or less diameter and you"ve to make sure the bore is accurate too. Then he performed some polishing and making sure the surfaces are smooth and tip is good enough which should not cut someone's mouth while sipping something.

Time stamp?
A response to the question, "why did he put the wood in the toaster oven?" Warming the wood up dries it out some. Green wood has too high a moisture content to carve effectively. The wood shrinks slightly and separates from the bark, so you can remove the bark cleanly without splinters. It also heat tempers the wood, which allows it to be used with hot drinks. I've never used a toaster oven to dry wood, but I suppose it would work well enough. Not sure how it would affect the temperature and dry time.

It needs to spin fast to cut, so if you hit an uneven part at the slightest wrong angle, especially if you’re learning, that’s going to knock that sharp metal object out of your hands and just as likely right at your stomach than anywhere else. It’s just insane coordination that takes practice. I’m sure it’s recommended you wear a leather apron when you just start, before I get too melodramatic.

Not funny I didn't laugh. Your joke is so bad I would have preferred the joke went over my head and you gave up re-telling me the joke. To be honest this is a horrid attempt at trying to get a laugh out of me. Not a chuckle, not a hehe, not even a subtle burst of air out of my esophagus. Science says before you laugh your brain preps your face muscles but I didn't even feel the slightest twitch. 0/10 this joke is so bad I cannot believe anyone legally allowed you to be creative at all. The amount of brain power you must have put into that joke has the potential to power every house on Earth. Get a personality and learn how to make jokes, read a book. I'm not saying this to be funny I genuinely mean it on how this is just bottom barrel embarrassment at comedy. You've single handedly killed humor and every comedic act on the planet. I'm so disappointed that society has failed as a whole in being able to teach you how to be funny. Honestly if I put in all my power and time to try and make your joke funny it would require Einstein himself to build a device to strap me into so I can be connected to the energy of a billion stars to do it, and even then all that joke would get from people is a subtle scuff. You're lucky I still have the slightest of empathy for you after telling that joke otherwise I would have committed every war crime in the book just to prevent you from attempting any humor ever again. We should put that joke in text books so future generations can be wary of becoming such an absolute comedic failure. Im disappointed, hurt, and outright offended that my precious time has been wasted in my brain understanding that joke. In the time that took I was planning on helping kids who have been orphaned, but because of that you've waisted my time explaining the obscene integrity of your terrible attempt at comedy. Now those kids are suffering without meals and there's nobody to blame but you. I hope you're happy with what you have done and I truly hope you can move on and learn from this piss poor attempt

Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH , and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Simply beautiful… I would love to do this… I have been working with my hands ever since I was a very young boy… I love to build things…right now I build custom action figure dioramas from comics books stores to action figure photographers…I also love wood work.. I built my kitchen cabinets and built my kids bunk bed… Built our dining room table… every time I watch this I get very relaxed… I would love to see someone do dried orange peels…I bet it would look like dragon scales…
Plot twist: this is actually a glow up for the wood
