Wooden Ships - CSNY (Live at Woodstock 69)

Музыка

This is the live version of the song performed at Woodstock 69. I've been looking for this version for quite some time but was not able to dig it up. Finally I found the CD and I thought I would share this song with all of you wonderful people. Enjoy!
If you want a MP3 copy send me a message, I'll be happy to send it out. Cheers!

I was too young to be there, but for me, this song most perfectly captures that 60's vibe. No music like this today .... sadly.

I was 20 so I could have made it but alas, I was in the service. Picked a bad time to hook up with "Uncle Sam" but I wasn't too bright back then. Thank God for the movie and collector's edition of all the the incredible songs. 12/25/2023 so have a "Merry Christmas" & a "Happy New Year".

Best performance and version of this song. Rocks a lot harder than the studio version which almost has a jazz influence to it (though I do love that version as well.)

Lovely. I remember the day I walked into HMV Records in Oxford Street about '73, and found the triple album of Woodstock with that marvellous picture when you open the two folds (half a million people sitting happily in mud :). Heard these sounds for the first time then and discovered so much more superb music from that great event. Movie still well worth watching too.

Agree with everything everybody said nostalgic , brilliant music great times , was just a teenager when Woodstock played, listen how music had changed from early rock and roll, so many influences, where did all this brilliance come from, ok sound and recording techniques have got better in modern times but not the music

Some group... ? This is Crosby Stills Nash and Young, at the very height of their powers. Saw them at the Albert Hall around 2011 and they still have it. BTW If you fancy some more stunning guitar from Woodstock look out Ten Years After playing "I'm Goin Home". Startling.

we who were young in the 60's and early 70's didnt realize how lucky we were to grow up listening to this music. Not sure what happened around 74 or so, but the bottom fell out-maybe Nixon had to be President for great music to happen?-I'm just sayin....

Interesting how nearly ten hours earlier the crowd heard a totally different take on the song during the Jefferson Airplane's set. Their version was darker and apocalyptic. CSNY's version is much more jazz flavored. Still, both versions are classics.

Stills was a good lead player in Buffalo Springfield, and continually improving. When he hung out with Jimi they often jammed-as they both loved to do-from 1967 on. Of course Stephen learned a few things while playing with Hendrix-who wouldn’t have!?! But Stills was on an upward trajectory lead wise either way...
