wood turning - You won't believe what I did with this one
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This wood lathe project was inspired by the waterfront. In this woodturning video I am woodturning a cherry log into a vase inspired by my time at the waterfront. This turned out to be more work than I was expecting. I turned part of this lathe project and came back the next morning to find the wood had cracked overnight. So I had some repair work to do on this woodturning project.
I hope you enjoy/enjoyed this new woodturning video.

VERY Nice...! The twine sets it off.. Cherry is cracky, but it still looks great.

Thank you Wilbur! Ya, I've turned other cherry that wasn't to bad. This is darker wood so not sure what kind of cherry this is. I have more from the same log. We'll see if it cracks too. I'm happy with it. I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks for watching!
That turned out very nice. The jute cord accent really looks nice.

It's a 1/2 inch bowl gouge.
Lovely piece. Please tell me about the brown filler and liquid used to fill the crack, do you know if available in UK? Thank you for sharing 😊

Used coffee grounds and thin ca glue. I think you drink coffee over there.😁

@@petewarne5138 If you use regular you might have more tool marks. Depends how jittery you get with coffee.😜
I would love to start wood turning but what i would like to know, how much could it cost to start with the basic set up in the uk, with all the tools and equipment?

I don't know prices in the UK. In the US you could get a decent start for around 500.00.

@@RcWoodturning Thank you for your quick reply. oh wow, that is a good price. I had a quick look for the tools and equipment from the UK and it starts at around £1,500, not sure what that is in $ but it looks like the UK is so much more expensive, not that I'm surprised really. 👍👍
where do you get your fast stick glue?
