Very good and honest review, I was shocked how expensive this kit was. Sorry you had to pay so much! Off to purchase one of your patterns in support of your business but also because I love your patterns! Thank you for sharing and yes please to ‘kit’.

Thank you so much! Yeah, it is quite expensive indeed and I really wanted the crochet hook. I mean, I didn't expect it would be the best crochet hook in the world, but I thought it was a bit better. Thank you for supporting me my dear 💛

I bought 3 of these and will probably not buy more. The first was just to try the product. Nice but not anything I can’t find elsewhere at a lower price. My 10 year old granddaughter is left handed and this will be a perfect gift for her. The tutorial goes step by step and with left & right had instructions. I’m right handed so it was worth it. I tried teaching. It was really difficult. ❤

I’ve made a Wooble kit when I was first starting, and it is definitely great for beginners and helped me start my crochet journey. I can now crochet on my own and read patterns!

As someone who had NEVER crocheted before, the Woobles kits got me started and did an amazing job showing me, step by step, HOW to crochet. My husband went a little wild and bought me a bunch of them but I had already moved on to larger, plushie amigurumis with chenille yarn and I've even moved to cotton yarn now. I think the biggest thing that Woobles offers is the video tutorials, for both right and left-handed crafters. Those tutorials are some of the most well-taught I have ever seen and that's where the price is justified. I would love to see you review the tutorial for the Harry Potter Wooble, to see what an experienced crocheter thinks.

Thank you so much for your feedback!!! That's actually what I believe: they are excellent for people who want to start in the amigurumi world, you have everything easily in your hands. And I agree with you that having the left-handed tutorials is AMAZING! I even know some crocheters that are left-handed and had to learn how to crochet with their right hand, because there was no one to teach how to do it with the other hand. It's great that they offer this kind of support!

Something to also keep in mind about the price is that things that are licensed(aka from a franchise) typically cost more because they have to pay fees. I would compare the prices to the wooble original products instead but I feel like even those are too expensive as well.

  • @Crocheniacs

Yeah!!! I totally agree with you. I checked their website for the animal kits that are not licensed and some of them are a bit cheaper (35 dollars) and others are the same price as the Harry Potter.

KIT! I'll start with the yarn. Yes! the yarn constantly split on me, and in the beginning, I didn't know how to deal with it and I was EXTREMELY frustrated. Also, I would buy LOTS of yarn because I was always afraid I would not have enough. Let's just say, I can open a store with all the yarn I have. That's why I love to buy kits that come with the yarn. Hint Hint Bianca! LOL Yes, the hook is not that great, but it's good enough to learn. Because that is what this kit is about - learning! Not making somethiing spectacular. Learning HOW to make single crochets, and attaching eyes, and stuffing a project. I'm assuming there are videos with that barcode. But the price! WOW! $40? That is A LOT! BUT, they are saving you time and frustration buying all the things you need for the project. The magic ring - I like the fact that it was made. However, I think learning amigurumi (working in a circle) right out of the gate, would be HARD! Working in a circle is difficult. I know someone who quit learning crochet because she started with a magic circle and her stitch count was alway off. For me, I learned the stitches first. Single, double, and triple crochet. Once I was confortable, I moved onto the magic ring and then amigurumi because that was my goal. So what do I think about this kit? Okay, don't hate me people, this is MY opinion. For ME, I don't think this is a good fit to learn crochet. There I said it! If you truly want to learn how to crochet, I don't think this kit will do that. There are so many good people (Bianca included) that will teach you how to crochet for FREE! And the important thing here is PRACTICE! You're not going to be an expert after making this kit. Crochet is NOT a quick project to learn. You need to practice over and over and over and over.... You have to be dedicated to the craft! I think the kit gives you a taste of what it's like to crochet and that is a good thing. I know someone who bought the kit, tried it, and quit. If you truly want to learn crochet, it takes time, practice, and determination.

Hi Mare!!! First of all, thank you SO MUCH for your lovely feedback (As ALWAYS!). But I have to admit: I am now curious to see the size of your yarn stash! Are you a yarnholic ??? 🤣 Just kidding! I agree with you, and that's exactly what I meant: the kits save us time and you have everything that you need. Some people just want the activity as a distraction, and don't care if they spend more money on it, as long as they don't have to go from store to store to find the right product. We buy the comfort too. But I wish more people had your mindset that crochet takes time and practice! As a lot of other life skills, like playing an instrument or practicing sports! Do you know the 10000h rule? It's from a book I read many years ago, and it says that it's possible to achieve true expertise in any skill by practicing, for at least 10,000 hours. Who am I to judge if the book is right or not about the amount of time it takes, but the main idea to keep in mind is that we have to be patient, practice, and keep learning. ALWAYS learning!

I agree sooo much! I learned with a book I borrowed from my grandma and few youtube videos. I used yarn I already had, as I also knit, I borrowed a hook and got to work learning how to chain, sc, hdc, dc just going back and forwards and practising my tension at the same time. When I got that down, how to "catch" the yarn without splitting it and seeing where each stich is and how to count etc. Then I went to the "how to magic ring" part of youtube. I recomend this way to all of my friends who want to learn how to crochet. I also do teach my friends who want to try, as I have everything needed and they don't have to buy anything in case they don't like it and spend a lot of money on it. I'd rather pay 20 euro for yarn and 5-10 for a pattern and be able to make multiple of the same figure that will look the same every time!

I have to make another comment here and promise to make it short. When I was telling my friend, who tried the kit, my thoughts about the kit "not teaching" crochet, she said: The kit is not about LEARNING to crochet! It's about making something cute and fast." I kind of looked at her like she was crazy! You mean, you don't want to LEARN how to crochet? So there it is people! It's not about learning, it's about making something cute and fast. It's all about Instant Gratification. So if that is the case, then it works!

  • @Crocheniacs

This is a very interesting point of view, my dear Mare! For us who love to crochet, it is weird to hear someone saying they want to crochet something cute, but they don't want to learn crochet. A bit controversial maybe, but I can understand her point!

Good afternoon from boiling hot Central Florida. I appreciate your tips on yarns. I have been using yarnArt Jeans and looking to switch for different projects. And the sewing is already on my plans 🤭 I started recording last week, and I still have a few more snippets to record, then edit, and all this process can take a while, but believe me: this video (or videos, it depends on the size of it 😅) will come next month!

Appreciate the review❤. They DO have some neat stuff but i can find other patterns i like better. Question tho for you, is the yarn soft/cotton or soft acrylic yarn🤔?
