i was so pleased with “open mind” when it came out, he’s seriously such an amazing artist. what always amazes me most about him besides his voice is his DANCING. especially having that build of his it’s hard to be graceful but he’s that and more! i seriously don’t think he gets enough props for that

Wonho is having a comeback with Blue Letter on 9/14!!! And this time he wrote, produced, and arranged all the songs on the album!!! Open Mind is one of my favorite mvs of his!!!! Lose is such an artistic mv, it's like a movie, I really love it too!! Wonho has been one of the top 10 solo artists in Korea since his debut, I'm extremely proud of him and I'm so happy you enjoyed his solo work!! Thank you so much for reviewing!!!

Thank you so much for your reaction! Wonho’s return to the industry is frankly incredible. I’m not sure how much of the story you’ve already gathered, but Wonho’s “scandal” was part of a collection of attacks against MX that all happened fairly quickly. They were orchestrated by a former friend of Wonho’s, the shitty gossip rag Disp4tch, and a well known woman (actual criminal, and his former friend’s girlfriend) Han Se0 Hee, someone who is infamous for creating scandals and departures within other groups and their members as well, especially throughout 2019. It was like a giant terrible soap opera, it hardly seemed real. Anyway, there were several targeted attacks on MX, but Wonho ended up leaving the group in an attempt to protect them and take the scandal with him. The company clearly wasn’t against this or truly in support of him. Fans worldwide WERE against it, and raised tens and thousands of dollars for billboards in Times Square and around the world, vigils were held outside of their company building, and Monbebes basically took over trends on twt. Even Psy was signing petitions against his removal from the group. Starship never gave the fans anything, MX are forbidden to speak of him or be seen with him (supposedly for “protection”), and the fans continued on protesting for six straight months without any news until it finally came out that Wonho was cleared of the drug accusations made against him. He’d grown up in poverty and ran with the wrong crowd as a teen, but took himself out of it long before he was famous and made himself the incredible person he is today. Still, many tried to use these things against him to ruin his name. His fans are the biggest reason he was able to return, though he’s made it clear that returning as a solo artist was the only option given to him. The gag orders MX/Wonho have regarding each other are still in effect, and the company routinely doesn’t promote him and attempts to sabotage him, and has blacklisted him from most promotion avenues (except for common music shows) in the industry. He only recently was able to guest on a Korean radio show a few weeks ago, the first time since his re-debut. Despite all this, he is consistently on worldwide charts and is doing amazingly as a solo artist, through his and the fans’ efforts. It’s truly astounding the things he’s overcome and is still overcoming, and I’m insanely proud of him. I haven’t seen any comments about it yet, but Lose is basically him telling his story. The MV, the Korean + English lyrics all come together to really honestly portray it all. In the MV you see him using old style cutting and editing of film, like when you try to edit/change a story, and there’s a woman that seems to try and shoot him down. Both he and a mechanical heart are shown trapped in a cage, and the heart works furiously until it looks like he and it are about to explode. There’s creepy faceless entities and hands trying to get at him. The world seems to be collapsing, and there’s a giant film reel he’s falling away from. It kinda looks hopeless, but at the end time seems to be rewinding, the damage is repairing, and he’s being drawn back up towards the film reel. There’s hope and change coming, and Wonho is shown by himself in the room and the woman is gone. The English lyrics provided in the video are not actually the translation of the Korean lyrics, and tell another side of the story. The Korean translations can be found online, or in his cheering guide video for Lose. You should definitely watch it, it’s really cute but also gives you clarity on the Korean lyrics. Because of the company’s refusal to address Wonho’s situation or allow MX and Wonho to even be seen together in public, the fandom became extremely divided with toxic Wonho solo stans, people who didn’t want him in the group at all, MX haters, those who don’t want anything to do with him and are of the opinion that him being a part of the group should be a thing of the past, etc. Kpop fans are weird, man. These are a loud group of people, but in truth not the majority. Most of us are aware of their history and importance to each other, and would love for them to be able to work together again (or even just be seen together). So many groups have members with solo careers at the same time (just look at Jooheon and I.M), so there’s no reason Wonho can’t have his and also be in the group. They’ve always been an extremely close group who refers to each other as family, and we wouldn’t think company restrictions would change that. Their original contracts end next year, and Wonho goes to the military as well, so his contract will also be ending. We’ll just have to see what they do, and Monbebe/Wenee trust them to do what’s best for them and what they want. Until then, we’re happily supporting both of them and enjoying all the things they give us, which is a lot! We’re really the most spoiled fandom 😁. Wonho has his own personal channel called ohhoho, which he uses to share anything and everything he wants, from workout vids to mukbangs, to surfing or rock climbing and a lot more! It’s a great time. His new album Blue Letter is out now, with the title track “Blue.” I’m excited to check out your reaction to it!! If you got through this essay of a comment, kudos to you 😅. Although the injustice wasn’t fixed and still goes on, we’re excited for all the things they CAN do and all they’re accomplishing. They’re amazing people with a strong resolve you just can’t bring down 😁. Oh, for whenever you check out Losing You, it’s the first song he ever released since his return, even before his actual official debut as a solo artist. It was really important to him that fans see it as soon as possible, as he said it was his letter/message for fans. It deals with a lot of the feelings he was going through during everything and those six months, and his gratitude for fans who did so much to stay for him and bring him back. Glad that you have gotten around to checking out our bunny. There are many fans that would like to see Wonho rejoin Monsta X, and there are many fans (on both sides) that are against it. For now, Wonho is a solo artist with Highline, which is a subsidiary of Starship (which is the company that Monsta X is with). So they are actually in the same building. And there's Wonho's military service (as you know, Shownu just went and Wonho is only about 9 months younger) after which the 93-liners start going. So the question may be moot until they all come back.

Ufff Wonho really knows how to be sexy. Not only his visuals but his voice and the music, the video. I would love to wear clothes like those he wears 🤭. He always liked to wear 'different clothes'. Ever since Monsta x, he shocked people bc of what he was wearing. He said he likes to prove that a man can wear anything even if it's not ragged 'for man'. Back then he designed some clothes for MX concert. Idk if he designed what we saw un the mv but I know one thing... He looks so cool.

I can't handle "losing you", i cry, always. Just it. hahahahah BUT IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL.

"Losing You" really sums up Wonho's personality and why he took a bullet to protect his brothers... he's the most genuine, soft, person in the world and despite his physical appearance, he's not afraid to cry when he feels he's let down his fans.

Not sure if anyone answered your question about how one attains a physique like his but Wonho started working out regularly when he was a trainee but got more serious about building before 2019. You can kind of see it in Alligator and definitely in Shootout. Not sure how many years he's been working out twice a day EVERY DAY, but he's been consistent (even when they were on tour) for years. He's very serious about health and fitness. I love watching reaction videos to him by body builders.

@@rjkpop - Agreed! He's such an inspiration to so many. He has a YT channel for his various content (called Ohhoho) and he's uploaded workout vids there. He's gained many followers that don't even know him as an artist/celebrity. Some follow him because of his workouts.

👏🏻 I’m so glad to see you react to our buff bunny! He was my gateway drug into kpop and honestly was the only reason I got into Monsta X (though of course I love them all on their own now). He wasn't called Capt Korea by Men's Health Magazine for nothing (you should check out that issue for sure) & I'm sorry but I chuckled my way through your reaction cos I knew what was going to happen! On the subject of whether Wonho could return to Monsta X, I'm not sure, but Monbebes would love it. Wonho basically sacrificed himself for the sake of the group when the allegations were made against him & even though he has been found totally innocent I'm not sure it would happen. Members have returned to a group after a hiatus but I don't know if any other group has had a member leave in this way & then return to the group. If other people know of any instances like this I would be interested to hear tbh.

also I really don't think the company is ever going to allow him to rejoin monsta x. they don't wanna admit they fucked up in basically guilt tripping him into leaving... but the good news! is that he's basically in the same building as the boys and they're in each other's videos in the background sometimes. you can hear wonho's laughter in vlogs the boys release. so it's really, really nice to know they're all still good with each other even if the bullshit company won't let them admit it in public.

Wonho is so talented! I'm so proud that he was strong enough to be able to get through all that happened and restart his career with such amazing music!! He is slowly discovering his sound - and it really works with his image! Apart from that, he has always put a lot of importance on health and working out (even before his debut with MX). But he really focussed on this during his hiatus and the results are so amazing!!

When he was in MX he was told to lose some weight because he was “getting too buff” compared to the rest of the members. I think he expressed in one interview he wanted to be a bodybuilder. Now that he’s solo, he has more control over his body.

Wonho has always loved to workout. While he was waiting for the investigation to get done, he said that all he had to do was workout. Everyone was surprised by his size. When he decided to leave Mosta X he actually had to break his contract. The only way he was able to comeback was thru the company's secondary label. Maybe one day he'll be able to come back to them. But he is doing such a great job as a soloist he might just stay where he is. Love him either way. Monsta X=Monbebe, Wonho+=Wenee. (we need)

Highline (Wonho) is a subsidiary of Starship (Monsta X) so there is still a business relationship that would make it technically possible. What the fans (esp in Korea) would support is another question... He's also due for military service, soon, and Monsta X contract is nearing an end, so timing is an issue.

Wonho is an AMAZING soloist but he is also an amazing group member. And honestly, it hasn't been done before, but our boys are unlike any other kpop group. Those of us who have been fans for years know that they would be together if they had the chance, but unfortunately Starshit never gave Wonho the chance to rejoin the group. Wonho said in a vlive that the ONLY way back to us was to go solo. This means that they never gave him the choice and WE ARE PISSED. He deserves to do whatever his heart desires. He should not be held back by some shitty company. 😤 We pray that after MX and his contracts end that they can be together again as a group while Wonho can also do solo work as well. He is a multitalented artist and SSE is treating him like he is lesser than the boys, they treat him like he is guilty and are punishing him even though he was proven innocent. The whole thing was a shit show. Sorry if I'm coming off a little strongly, Wonho is my ult and what happened to him and the boys absolutely crushed all of us. I pray another company will do right by them and let them be together. It's kind of sad bc now as fans we are divided. SSE has their albums not far enough apart so we don't really have enough time to recover financially for album sales or for streaming passes and def not enough time to save up enough votes. Neither are getting the wins they deserve bc of Starshit. 😔 Monbebe will always cherish and love Wonho, and we can't wait for the day to welcome him back home with open arms. 🥰 Wonho's fans are called Wenee. 💙 And you are correct, most of his fans are both Mbb and WN. Wonho leaving wasn’t about him and Monsta X, it was a trashpot hurling LIES about Wonho that caused his departure from the group. Wonho was totally exonerated and vindicated from all allegations! He’s still very close to Monsta X but a reunion is impossible, right now, cuz even though Wonho was completely cleared and innocent, knetz are very unforgiving and I think for Monsta X to continue their uprise StarShip is playing it safe by giving Wonho a solo instead with their sister company. And Wonho is thriving as a soloist so it’s a win win even though Monbebes and Wenees want a reunion desperately!
