I backed it for a physical Switch copy, and then when said physical copy was delayed, they ended up giving me a Steam copy FOR FREE! Platinum Games really knows how to treat their fans right.

This game is a gem and if you love PlatinumGames wacky but tight and polished style, you'll probably love this. One thing to say is the difficulty curve is a bit steep, imo. It's basically like the first time you play a souls game: you'll fumble around, probably getting your butt kicked until eventually it will just 'click' and you'll understand. That's when the game opens up and you start having a blast with all of the different weapons and mechanics and deep combat designs that PG is known for. Highly recommended, please try the demo at the very least, this game deserves so much love.

Honestly I think the final level of this game is my favorite finale of any game I've played. And that's saying A LOT.

Bayonetta was like the ultimate reward for this game, she was the last unlockable character once you've gotten all the hardest achievements, so I dunno how to feel about her just being free in the demo. This game is awesome, it's perfectly possible to get to the end with basic knowledge of the mechanics, but you're gonna learn so many things just talking about it with other people! Like some hidden effects that weapons have, how to chain-combo an enemy to death, lock-on, hidden wonderful ones in stages, how truly game-changing some items and skills are, there's just so much to it. It's crazy!!

Imagine how I felt in halo 3 to get recon armor, then they made it a pre-order bonus for halo reach.

This game is epic. I’ve beaten it twice now. Once on Wii U, and then again on Switch. Not many games are good enough to keep me engaged all the way through twice.

I've never been here so early. I love Arlo and I hope he and Kane have a good holiday

This year was my first time playing W101 and my goodness it's my 2020 game of the year. I had stupid grin on my face the whole way through, it's CRIMINAL how this game is slept on by a lot of people. It's a switch game I'm keeping on my shelf for the long run. Such a freaking masterpiece.

It's like Bayonetta/DMC meets Pikmin

I mean Arlo said "1 O 1" instead of " 1 Zero 1" or just "One hundred and one". Was in this meaning. Gundam 00 is also spelled as "Gundam Double O" And I have seem people now saying like "The 2.O version update"

The Wonderful 101 is best described as DMC / Bayonetta at an isometric angle where weapon switching is a skill-based mechanic in and of itself. It's also my favorite video game of all time.

I can 100% vouch for this game’s quality. After playing it, I KNEW I needed to play Bayonetta 1 and 2. The Platinum formula is just SO GOOD!

This game is the rollercoaster that honestly never ends, is how I describe it.

So what you're saying is instead of getting perfect scores on every stage in the full game in order to unlock Bayonetta, i can just play the demo and unlock her there and then transfer the demos save data to the full game and i can have her for my entire first play-through? Nice 💜

You didn't need to get perfect scores on every stage, just Platinum trophies (pure platinum is perfect). and you could do them on any difficulty you want to unlock it - which is why most people just go for platinum on Very Easy, since they're basically free if you have the base idea of how the game works.

This is actually a very pleasant surprise! I've heard some about the game, but nothing has sold me on it yet. We'll see if that changes today!

I first heard of this game in a top 10 final bosses list, and I was slightly intrigued. I soon looked up a video with the game's final boss (I usually do that for games that look interesting go me to see if ill get it), and I was blown away with the finale. I eventually got tye game, and it probably could be one of my favorites. I'd like to say you're missing out, but I have no idea what your tastes are for games.

This review was...wonderful. I backed the kickstarter for this remastering and am just stoked it was able to join my switch collection. I haven't quite boxed up my WiiU yet, but the more WiiU games that get ported to the switch, the closer I get to that sweet sweet day

it's the rare type of game where the highs are so absurdly high that i can pretty much overlook the lows. it's a game that should realistically be closer to a 7/10, but somehow becomes a 10/10

@@TapuArt I agree. The good parts of this game outweigh the flaws by a long shot (in my opinion). The finale is definitely my favorite part of the game. I don't think I'll get the remastered version since the Wii u one is good enough for me. Also, I like the main theme in the Wii u version more than the orchestrated version in the remaster.

Wonderful 101 is like Pikmin, Ōkami, Viewtiful Joe and a classic Platinum action game all rolled into one

It's incredible when a game's first boss is a more insane spectacle than the final boss of most action games and then continues to top it with each following boss fight.

I love how the drawing mechanic in this game harkens back to okami ... one of my favorite games of all time. you can totally tell kamiya wanted to bring that mechanic back again, and he does a great job while still making it unique.

That moment when you remember that, since you backed the game for a physical Switch copy, and they gave you a free Steam copy due to the physical release being delayed, you never actually played the Switch release. -_(\ No, seriously, the version of the game I actually spent money on, and I never even put it into the console. At least I can play this version with some endgame unlocks from the start. ;p

I can't remember if it was for the console of their choice or just for Steam, but since I WANTED a second copy on Steam, the whole thing worked out quite well for me.

This is like...my third favorite game of all time. I just want more people to play it.

I supported this remaster on kickstarter, because I never had a WiiU to play it on. I love Platinum, and this is one of their most interesting and fun works. Highly recommenced to anyone who are fans of character-action!

I'm with you, I was excited for this game on Wii U and then I played the Wii U demo and lost all my excitement. However, I recently bought it for Switch and I'm loving it!

I appreciate this quick look at the game! Happy it had a demo so I could revist, but this is just one of those games where I absolutely love everything about it...except actually playing it. Was glad to give it another chance, but watching someone else play was the way to go for me, personally. Still, I love Platinum games to death!

Very good game. Buy it and support Platinum, as they are a wonderful developer, and this is their first self-published game. Good to see them reach out to at least one notable KZreadr and price it very reasonably :)

Platinum Games have an unparalleled sense of style in their games. I love the crazy, high-octane, in-your-face action they deliver. I've always wished that Sega would let them do a Sonic game, just so they could give it the sense of speed and action that Sonic Team doesn't seem to deliver often enough.

If you find yourself struggling through the game, I cannot recommend ChipCheezums LP enough. He's an oldschool LPer with an insane amount of quality and post production that consistently does a better job at explaining a games more shallow and even deeper mechanics than the games he plays themselves. There's also Matthewmatosis' "how to enjoy Wonderful 101" video which is like an hour long but is supposed to be seen as a video manual, encouraging you to come back to it and skim through the timestamps for whatever mechanic you need explained. The Remaster has definitely improved things here and there in terms of tutorials, but it's still an overall poor attempt at such. Do not take it lightly when I tell you there's a reason why people either think of this game as a masterpiece or weird as hell and way too overwhelming. It all stems from a 10/10 game most likely leaving a horrible first impression through its lack of handholding. If you need any more advice feel free to DM me or respond here. Yes I know that's super weird but that's how desperate fans of this game can be lmao

Wonderful 101 is sincerely my favorite Platinum game and was one of the absolute highlights of the Wii U. I love it to death.

I can't help but think Viewtiful Joe should make a cameo in this game, because the Viewtiful Joe series and the Wonderful 101 has a similar theme of heroism.

My absolute favorite game of all time. Took me a while to start getting pure platinum scores, but man does the game elevate the better you get at it and the more moves you unlock; which happens way after the first or even second play through.

Understandable. Earlier this year, I have been wanting to get Astral Chain too above a few other games (I haven't really been interested in Bayonneta), and I eventually did, but now I want the other games too sometime. By the way, Astral Chain is very good so far. It usually isn't the type of game someone like me would be interested in, but it is fun and I think it could be among some of the best Switch games (not exactly in my opinion though).

I played the demo on Wii U all the time. Still haven't picked up yet, maybe I should...

I still own this game on my WiiU. The cartoony art made me think the game would be way more simple than it was. But I couldn't beat one of the first bosses and wasn't having enough fun to figure out what I was doing wrong. It still sounds like I might have enjoy it.

It was the Wii U demo of The Wonderful 101 that originally sold me on the game, and I absolutely ended up loving it back on the Wii U. I actually liked it even more than Bayonetta 2, due to just being so fresh and creative, in addition to being tons of fun.
