At my school in the bathrooms there’s a little basket that has some pads and liners in it. In the nurse’s office there is a drawer which has lots of tampons, extra pads, spare underwear, travel sweets and some cramp tablets. The school nurse is so nice and she’s always so open and friendly about having your period. To this day my period is made much easier because of the facilities we have at school. Super thankful! x

Aushaha Yahahahahaw No, its kinda just ere throughout the day which is why you need to wear a pad. You don't just bleed whenever you pee. It does start to feel a bit weird down there (I don't know how to explain it) but that's usually how I know i started.

My mom had the “talk” with me when I was 10,she said I was showing symptoms and a week later I got my period. I’m now 17 lol

I RELATE TO THE LACTOSE INTOLERANT CHICK SO HARD!!! I was in 4th grade and I got mine at school and I thought I pooped myself, so I just didn’t tell anyone. On my second period, it happened again and my dad was giving me clothes to change into after a shower. He saw my old bloody undies and he was like “Why didn’t you tell anyone?” And I was like “I thought it was poop🤷‍♀️”

Kudos to all the women out there who didn't know what a period was/got it really young/ had it at school, or some place were you didn't have anything. ✨I got mine at my moms, in 5th grade, it was light (still is), and was educated✨

That was also like 10-15 years ago. It's much more common now for nurses to have sanitary stuff because periods are less taboo, even though a decade ago, it was less taboo than ten, twenty years before that. Heck, even 30-40 years ago, men "didn't need to know" about a woman's cycle.

My school has a storage cupboard with dozens of boxes of them, in year 7 they give each girl a box of them after we get taught about periods in pshce. I go to an all girls school and I'm kinda glad because you get no judgement if you're walking around with a hot water bottle or anything

My period story: I went to school (I was in 5th grade), I was feeling super meh and hungry and craving things. During science, I had my head on the table and my teacher came up to me and said "why is your head on the table?" I sat up and was like "no I'm not". She felt my forehead and said go to the nurses office. I went there she took my temperature and I was fine, I came back and my entire class sanitized all my stuff (this was in the beginning of covid). I was the person who calls bus names on the announcements, but usually I go to the bathroom before any of them were there. surely enough there was a huge stain in my underwear, and the tiniest stain on my light gray pants. I went out crying because I didn't know what to do. And I couldn't call the buses that day because I was crying. The buses just kept coming and my art teacher who was supervising had to call them and It took like 15 minutes until I could tell her, and I quote "I GOT MY PERIOD AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!" The look on her face was priceless, she said " okay go to the nurse". AND IT WAS"T EVEN THE REGULAR NURSE! She said put toilet paper in your underwear. I went home crying and sat in my room for an hour until my mom came home

My first period was on New Years so so great way to start off a year!!

My period story: It started when I was in grade 7(i was at home thank goodness😰) I just woke up, went to the bathroom and saw what the red fairy left for me. I burst out into tears and cried for a little bit then called my mom (she had gone to work btw) and told her what had happened. After explaining everything she told me that hseries as coming home but she took waaaaaay too long so I went through her drawers and got a liner, but I took it and threw it out because I thought my mom would tell at me for going through her stuff😅. Long story short she came home with some pads she'd bought for me on the way and explained everything while I wiped my tears. And the best thing was that i was going for a 7 day school trip abroad the next day so I was prepared🙌

4:05 8th grade is 'late'? I got mine in 10th! I was almost 15! 🤣 (Literally like, 2 months before I turned 15 lol) I'm 16, only had it for a year, and my one friend told me she got hers in 5th grade, and she asked when I got mine and I'm just like "🤭😆😅😂" and she's like, what? And I'm like, "I got mine... When I was 15", and she was like "SHUT UP. NO WAY." And I was like, "yep 👍" and she was like, "THAT'S NOT FAIR" and I was jist like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 😂😂😂😂😂

My mom was do excited and prepared for when I start my period and it was February 5 my mom was on a cruise and I started in my after school activity and I was so paranoid for the next few hours cause I didn’t know what to do so I broke down in tears and told my sisters.

My period story: the night before I got it there was a little blood on my underwear I didn't think much of it so I went to bed. The next morning it was the weekend and Halloween and there was more blood in my underwear and then I went to the bathroom wiped and there was more blood on the toilet paper. When I got it I knew tons about my period so I knew what it was and wasn't really worried at all I walked up to my mom and said "I got my period" and walked away. I was in 7th grade it really wasn't that bad for me

My period story: - At the age 9 - It was on the day of my field trip - went to the bathroom in the morning before going to school - saw blood -screech -cry -dying -my mom helps - try to go good for the rest of the day -end up not sleeping at night because of the pain and everything

when i got my first period, i was scared. i didnt realised it was period blood until a few days later. i was supposed to go to a week long camp and i saw blood in the bathroom before leaving. i thought i hurt myself at the vaginal area and was scared to tell my parents about it. so i just waited it out, hoping for the bleeding to stop. and then at camp, another girl saw my panties being all bloodied and taught me how to use a pad. i dont even remember her name but i am forever grateful for her.

My first period story: Luckily for me, I had already been taught about it at school, so I knew what to expect. I was 13 when I got mine for the first time, and I was at home at the time. Basically, I went to the loo and wiped myself after as usual, then I noticed that there was a little bit of blood on the tissue. I called my mum and told her what had happened, and showed her the loo roll. She then said 'I'll go and get you a sanitary towel in case it's your periods starting'. I'm lucky that I didn't have to deal with the beginning being embarrassing, but there were other embarrassing times too, like when getting changed for PE, one of the other girls said she could see the 'wings' of the pad (I prefer the pads with 'wings' on). One time in English class, I got really bad cramps which made me double up in pain. The teacher asked me what was wrong, but I felt like I couldn't say since it was a male teacher, and right in front of the whole class. Also, times when other girls asked me for a pad, which I thankfully had at the time, plus when I've accidentally left blood on the seat, and had to go back and wipe it up.

The last girl had me on the floor with fits of laughter 😂🤣😂🤣

Girl: “I went to the nurses office and I asked them to help me” Nurses: * Throws ice in her face* “Ice ice baby”
