Great list - thank you for doing this research! My bet is that one of the economic books you have on your "post" list will make it on the Long List. We'll see 🙂

You're probably right! I thought they sounded maybe a bit too dry for a general audience, but it would be good to see a book about econs make it!

Wowww so much research goes into these videos! Our best behaviour sounds like something I will love, definitely aligns with my interests and thoughts in the past year. Weathering sounds SO SO good, I definitely see the link between nature and our lives and walking in nature has always helped me to put a lot of things into perspective. I bet the Natalie haynes book will be on the list, she is just someone I feel they love haha.

Haha lots of research but it's fun research!! On our best behaviour and Weathering do sound so good! I need to not forget to add these to my tbr! People were shocked that the Haynes book didn't make it after all!

I find it so hard to make any predictions, but that made watching yours even more exciting! Who knows whether the judges will try to represent as many subgenres and topics as possible or focus more on current topics. I can't wait for the longlist 🤩

haha thanks! It was really hard to make a list! I almost coped out and put a list of 30, but I thought I'd do a list of 16 to try...although I did include an extra 10 😂

Love these prediction videos! So many of these books sound great. Monsters sounds particularly interesting, there's been such a polarized debate on this topic so I appreciate more nuanced accounts on this. Definitely would also like to read "all that she carried"

Yes! Well hoping that book is a good balanced conversation. Sad it was missed out, but the longlist is really strong!

All that she carried is on my list to read this year. The Britainnias is now added to my list! How the World Made sounds right up my alley too. Thunderclap is also on my TBR list for this year. I am going to add Crypt too.

Sooo many good ones to pick from! Thunderclap just lost on my list as I think it might actually make it but it fell a bit short on my interest haha

Making this list was so hard! I’ve got to get my video up this week, we have some in common which has me relieved. I think I have too many similar ones on mine, I am not very imaginative!
