The match was a replay of the Rio 2016 final where Russia took the spoils (22-19), but the French would not be denied this time around. France claimed their first Olympic gold medal in the women’s handball in Tokyo 2020 courtesy of a 30-25 victory over ROC.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games took place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

This is for Paris 2024 Olympics. Men's Handball of France has won 3 golds in Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Tokyo 2020, and won a silver in Rio de Janeiro 2016, and Women's Handball of France will do the same and win the first Gold Medal in Tokyo. Double Golds for Men of Team France and Women of Team France.

Why? They are powerhouse in this sport especially in women's side, fourth time World Champion, defending Olympic champion until this match, they beat 2020 european champion Norway in the Semi before this match. I know many peoples had permanent hates toward Russia on their mind, especially westerners. That why many of their fans for some sports are asians and south american peoples.

Russia has a huge team with talented players like Vyakhireva or Dmitrieva. Even if they are strong opponents and I always support French Team, I cannot disrespect them. They didn't reach finals by chance during the last major tournaments.
