Full race replay of the Women's 800m event from the Olympic Stadium at the London 2012 Olympic Games (11 August 2012).
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

@cyoungrun1 lmao I've been in cross country for 5 years so try again. And technically, the 800 is about 80% sprinting sooooo. I've ran it a lot, and if you run as hard as you can, your legs WILL feel like jelly. I have no idea what I'm talking about? Babe I've sprinted, done mid and long distance, and ran a half marathon. Get over yourself. 800s arent easy for everyone, and me mostly focusing on long distance means it's going to be a harder race for me. Thank you, next

Every professional athlete is on drugs - don't kid yourself. This is a common knowledge and everyone who is in sports knows that. Every athlete since 1970s been on some kind of drugs (some easier detectable, some harder). You know how fast can a complete natural run, even best of the best naturals run nowhere near what a high school athletes run (on drugs). There's not a single athlete in the sport today that is natural - they simply do't make it there. Russia was only targeted due to political reasons. I suggest stop been brainwashed and use your brains or whatever is left to think for yourself. I agree about Semenya tho - that dude should be running with dudes - he is a real cheater

When one finishes at 100m doesn't say a ton.. its about tactics and when to begin sprinting in order to not burn out. That being said Semenya didn't look tired... but who really knows. I'm glad she's in this race and has a chance to compete but I can see how people call unfair advantage
