Full Replay from the Olympic Stadium as the qualifying stages of the men's 800m take place at the London 2012 Olympic Games (6 August 2012).
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

I can't help but feel bad for those runners who come in last by 50-100 meters. But then I realize that they are in the Olympics and are very lucky to get this opportunity

Most of them come from smaller countries where athletics is not as popular or supported . You'd never see an US runners go that slow because the standard is high for the US to get into the Olympics.

You don't need to respect him, he still has the gold. Also, he was the only Algerian here. If Rudisha did that we would cry foul because in Kenya there are at least 10 guys who qualify for Olympics but available slots for one country are limited. There were 3 of them out of the 8 in Rio finals
Whos here for symmonds?
Very interesting to see the heats that lead up to the greatest 800m race ever.
its crazy to see how far bosse has come
Fun fact: in title there are the name "amos, rudisha, kitum" who's the order of the final podium (in the normal podium with 2-1-3)

The youtuber in olympic
Amos ...running style similar to Michael Johnson and the Scottish runner 🏃♂️ in the movie about the 1904 Olympic games...think the upand down with head pulled back allow more oxygen to enter the body....Amos was coming up on Rudisha.. needed an 880 yard race for gold.
makhloufi didn't want to compete in the 800m, but the Algerian Olympic Association failed to withdraw him so he had to compete. he apparently dropped out due to an ailment.
You should have included the world champion Qarni Said Jubeir from Algeria, who performed races at the top, concluded his career with honorable medals, and etched his name in the memory of athletics.
he is the classic algerian :) sly and fast

I ran against the aussie guy years ago, he beat me by 6 seconds
Aqui do SITIO ESCRIVÃO aqui zona rural de Guarabira no estado da Paraíba no Brasil
he done it on purpose because he didnt care what he done in the 800, he went and won the 1500m
I am not an expert, but I am sure Amos' form isn't quite out of the textbook. He looks like he's dragging himself.

So can someone explain to me why in heat 1 Al-Azemi was DQed for pushing Lewandowski? Lewandowski was slowing down obviously, there was no way he was getting in the Top 3. We saw a lot of pushing and shoving in Women's 800m in Doha, and no one was DQed.
@chrisnolan8132
4 жыл бұрын
Al-Azemi pretty clearly tripped Lewandowski from behind with 200 to go and pushed him in the back just as he was gearing up at the end. Lewandowski is known for his final kick and he had that ready to go until the Kuwaiti put him off his balance. Plus, they don't assume how someone would have performed after being fouled - they give the impeded runner the benefit of the doubt and advance him. It was the right call - and whatever happened in other races doesn't change that. (And Nakaayi was likely not DQed from that Doha semi because nobody she pushed got left out of the final. The final itself was clean.)
If you're talking about the guy in the first race, then you are wrong, that was not Makhloufi. I know who your talking about, I don't think the other kid is talking about him.
