Whittaker doubles for both indoor & outdoor champs! Amazing. It was crazy watching her switch gears in that final fifty. Rose just crumbles.

So happy for Juliette and Roisin! From HS phenoms to college stars. Hopefully Michaela also bounce back for the trials

I suspect Rose from LSU just went too hard in the rounds. Going 1:59 in the semi’s may have been unnecessary and today showed that. Gotta preserve that energy but good job. Hats of to Whittaker, and Willis.

Too much running on the outside of lane 2 and then had to work hard to get the inside lane on turn 3. Perhaps better off running from the front like she usually does

Too much running. She also did the 400m in the relay rounds

Willis boxed in most of the race but that kick is lethal even coming from lane 3. And Whittaker with that frictionless gliding stride that never looks as fast as it is. So happy for both of them. Do feel bad for Rose though. She grinds the competition in the dust all season but tightens up against these two for some reason.

Wow! In the 2nd week of May Phoebe Gill (17 years, 11 days old) ran 1:57.83 in the UK, then 2 weeks later ran 1:58.08 in another 800. Its tough being in grade 10 in High School...

There will be a new contender from Sri Lanka next year. She ran a 2.00 at Asian games at age 17+ and won a scholarship to USA.

You have to take into consideration that Rose is only a sophomore. She was still early in development as they were older in those past races. Rose didn't look 100% here though, which might've been reason for the completely different tactic.. fading to 4th and the overall times weren't that fast. Might've been something wrong... and she ran the preliminary too fast. Still, Whittaker still ran a great race.

Rose is not a championship racer. During the season she need to change up her running style, every race she runs for records. Whittaker will make the Olympic team because of her style of running, she has a great finishing kick and the USA team this year is wide open.

That was a boss move by Juliette Whittaker.......Rose is super fit however she is not mentally fit to run from anywhere. Strategy is key. The Whittaker's are proud....both former NCAA beast themselves.
