I love that we have a word for #golddigger , but we don't have a word for the level of #greed associated with a man who believes that he should have sole interest to and ownership in everything that was accumulated during his #marriage , no matter what his wife's contributions.
In case you couldn't tell, that was #sarcasm .

    Partner? A partner works as hard and contributes the same as the other does. Parasite is more accurate.

    @@YourGirlfriendNeedsaDivorce It may be equally valuable, just different. I have never seen a so called partner do as much as I have. Coming home after being on the tools for 10 hours to find the feces still on the toilet seat for 3 days while the partner is not working. Making our offspring sit on it. This is the equality they speak of. They want to be waited on hand and foot like a queen. I lived that. It was hell on earth.

Strange how when she got old and hired a cleaner for 2 hours a week........the house was spotless but she paid her less than the minimum wage! Also weird that when she was able to do the "hardest job on the planet", she was grossly over weight!

    @@jasoncummings7052 people are marrying later in life but not necessarily less - and the divorce rate is less than it once was but still hovering between 40-50%.

Furthermore marrying later in life suits the women who have gone through their promiscuous youthful years and have nothing but baggage for the man to take up. Finally ensuring that he has no way out of a divorce and is forced to become her servant. Marriage is a business for women. Men are increasing are keeping their single live because marriage offers nothing.

    @@jasoncummings7052 love? Companionship? A family? I've been married awhile and it's been the single greatest blessing of our lives. That's not true for everyone, but thats why access to divorce is so important. It's not because I don't believe in marriage, but if you don't then it's definitely not for you.

    If you go in buisness with someone and only put in 30% of the money then you dont receive 50% of the profits, what makes women or men think that its ok in a breakup to get 50% because some clown in government years said thats how it should be. Nope not for me.

    @@78ramcharger53 then don't get married. Marriage is a legal and social contract. The laws are there in black and white. In business, ownership shares are established by law and contract too. It's really not that different.

    @YourGirlfriendNeedsaDivorce yes however you do not have to follow the contract if both parties wish to just sign off, however most gold diggers will not do that because they say I'm entitled to it . Well contract also stated that for better or worse you stay together we know that doesn't happen nor should it. My point is why should anyone think they are entitled to half of something if they didn't contribute half.

    @@78ramcharger53 half doesn't mean half the capital towards the business. Most business partners aren't going to sign off on less than they're entitled to either! I've seen wives do it, but I'd counsel them not to. Life is hard enough without setting yourself up for success. Why should he take it all, or even most? You may not value the work that she did - and in my opinion the law doesn't value it enough - but it's not for you to determine her worth.

    @YourGirlfriendNeedsaDivorce so your saying if he makes 500,000 a year and she makes 100,000 a year or reverse it, that should they break up when it's all said and done they both walk away with half? I'm sorry but just because some crooked fool made this law up years does not mean it's right or should be followed. No one should walk away with all or nothing but 1/2 should only be when 1/2 was put in.

    @@78ramcharger53 it's not all down to numbers. What about how much uncompensated domestic work she did in the home? What about raising children? What about supporting a man through his education, or the lean years establishing the business? What about chronic mental or physical illness, autoimmune conditions, or disabled children? So many things happen in a marriage. It's not all financial.

    @@user-bg9xx1mt5p about 70. It's hard to say for sure, though - I hear fairly often from women that it's their husbands who wanted it but they never took legal steps to finalize it so they do it when they get tired of waiting on him.
