Bertha joins the long list of women empowered by men. Bertha was not an innovator. The interviewees here don't understand what that word means. Bertha contributed nothing of importance, for she was not an innovator. She had the wealth and privilege to take off several days to "pioneer" an automobile trip that was made possible by the ingenuity and initiative of her husband.

Why does this have to be about feminism?! Do feminists really need to piggyback on pioneers like Bertha Benz to feel a bit better about themselves?! Bertha Benz is an absolute hero, practically paved the way for our modern way of life. Without her, I wouldn't have 2 Mercedes I love and even type this comment. I have mad respect for her, Karl Benz, Rudolf Diesel and Mercedes Benz for reinventing the car time and time again, but this here is wrong... If you want to do something great, do it! Don't talk about how much room there is for women in science and engineering. Yes there is and nobody is stopping you. If you want it hard enough, you'll find a way to achieve it. The women truly interested in science dive head first into it's wonders, while feminists just talk without saying anything worthwhile.
