Yes, I agree, but time moves on and to be honest, there was a time when pitbull terriers were dodgy because of how they were treated by humans and how they were bred wrongly but humans, and now, with time and education, hopefully, that reputation is being turned around by good people. This dog may not have been abandoned but lost perhaps. People go camping, and so on, take the puppy, and the puppy gets lost and left behind. The small collar indicates to me that he was a lot smaller when he was separated from his previous owner. But it's all good now.

*Dog Bite Fatality: Volunteer at Humane Society of St. Lucie County Dies After Pit Bull Attack* *Violent, Traumatic Attack* 05/15/19: Police released new details about a vicious dog attack that left a shelter volunteer of the Humane Society of St. Lucie County "mutilated" and "dead" last week. Christine Liquori, 52, was killed by a pit bull-mix named "Amos" that had been found wandering the streets a month earlier, not eight days earlier, as previously reported. Police concluded their investigation Wednesday and authorized the release of the 911 call made by an individual at the shelter. Liquori arrived at the shelter about noon that day. She was found dead by a volunteer about 2:00 pm after he noticed that Amos was not in his kennel. The police report states that Liquori had "several lacerations and puncture marks to her right arm" and severe injuries to her face, which was covered in blood. A white plastic lawn chair, also covered in blood, was laying on its side next to Liquori, reports WPTV. Amos was found in the play area near Liquori with blood on its face. Fort Pierce police said there was one surveillance camera outside the facility where the attack happened, but it was not working at the time. In the 911 call, the dispatcher asks the caller, "Is she awake?" He replies, "No." The dispatcher next asks, "Is she breathing?" He replies, "No, I don't believe she is." The caller then states the condition of Liquori. "She's mutilated. And she's dead," he said. "She also has a severe laceration on her right arm," he added. David Robertson, the Executive Director of the Humane Society, said that Amos, who was available for adoption, had never shown any signs of aggression before.

Victoria LaBar is grieving the tragic death of her six-year-old son. The young mother from Beaufort, South Carolina, is devastated. On January 15, she posted on Facebook about a pit bull that had been abandoned on her property. Without hesitation, she and her family took the dog temporarily, hoping his owner would come forward soon. The next days were great. Everyone loved the new guest and even the house cat quickly made friends with him. In an edit of her initial post, LaBar wrote: "I really do not want to take this sweetheart to a shelter... He's great with other dogs, big and small, Children, big and small, AMD MY CAT! He’s amazing! Truly wish I could keep him!" But on January 20, the pit bull suddenly went completely berserk and lunged at LaBar's six-year-old son. A distraught Victoria LaBar took to Facebook shortly after the accident, asking her friends and family for space. "We are grieving ... It does not even feel real that we will wake up tomorrow and our son won't be here."

Her mother, Layla Tsuda, left the pair alone while she briefly nipped to the toilet. Moments later she returned to find the dog, named Mana, was savaging her baby girl. Tsuda managed to stop the attack, but tragically the baby had already suffered major injuries, according to KTNV. She was rushed to hospital with blunt force trauma to the head but could not be saved. In a statement devastated Tsuda told KHON-TV: “I have no words to explain my pain.” She said the family was blindsided by the attack as the pooch, who had been in the family for nine years, had never bitten anyone. You are an angel ♥️ thank you for rescuing Polo and not listening to the negativity 🤦🏻‍♀️ It makes me so sad and angry that this breed is so misunderstood. I rescued a pit bull and she has been so sweet. She’s wonderful with kids. I think she was abused by males 😢 so we have to always work with her. But once she trusts you she bonds. Pit bulls are one of the most loyal and loving pets. I named her LunaBlu and she’s been my baby since we’ve rescued her. ❤
