Woman's Modern Tiny House is Super Spacious & Functional

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Liza gives us a full tour of her stunning, modern tiny house that has space to sleep 9 people! It has a double bunk bed in the bedroom, king and queen sized lofts, and a day bed in the living room. Despite all of these amazing sleeping spaces, the bathroom is probably the most spectacular feature with a large glass shower, and a full-sized vanity. The kitchen has a dining bar and plenty of counter space for food preparation, as well as a 4-burner stove, oven, and fridge. Last but not least, there's also space for a combo washer dryer.
You can follow Liza on Instagram at:
/ tinymagnoliacottage
This tiny house is called the Magnolia after Liza's mom's favourite tree. She currently uses the tiny home as a cottage where it is parked on a lot she bought at an RV resort (the tiny house is certified as an RV). It was designed and built by Oliver and Cera from Summit Tiny Homes in Vernon, BC, Canada and you can find out more about them at the links below:
www.summittinyhomes.com/
/ summittinyhomes
Liza was forward thinking and also plans to live in the tiny home full-time when she retires, and the bunk beds were designed to be removable if she ever wants to change the configuration of the main floor bedroom and reduce climbing to the lofts when she gets older.
We hope you enjoyed visiting this tiny house with us!
Thanks for watching and happy holidays :)

I read above the lot she bought was a round $30,000. Wow that's high. I'm in NC and ither day I looked at 3 regular homes w/land lol less than acre. 2 were $89 thousand & 1 was just reduced to $57 thousand. That's the one I'm leaning toward. Its older than the home I'm in but no issues

Impeccable taste. The only two things I would change at all is a handrail to the upstairs master, and a cover for over the sink to increase prep space even more. But the colors, all the details are AMAZING. It's not often that I really like someone else's design choices. And how beautiful is that painted skull. Forget the railing, the skull got my attention much more. And so happy it's a propane stove. This is the best tiny home I've ever seen.

She commented on being able to use her tiny home wherever she is in 20 years. Brought to mind how tiny houses on wheels depreciate like a car and not increase in value like a home. Could you perhaps do some videos on the oldest known tiny homes and how they are holding up? Taking into account of course how often the owner moves them.

I'm a retired person, and after watching my older sister struggle with a wheelchair (fortunately, it was only for 2 months!) I realize how we can't expect to be without a cane or walker as we age. The doorways and toilet/shower access MUST be ADA compliant, or the home will be useless later. Try living with a bedside commode for a toilet for a month and you will get the idea VERY quickly!

Wow...... great comments that make practical sense. I think for myself, I would find a permanent place and figure out how to have a basement foundation if that’s a practical alteration to a tiny home. As much as I love them; a tiny home wouldn’t work for me. My creative projects demand a bit more space.

  • @OceanSwimmer

    @OceanSwimmer

@Bob Bobbertson --- I don't mean to denigrate a very attractive home, and I know building codes change. I'm thinking about the owner's comment about living in her tiny home after retirement. She could change the configuration of the doorways, toilet, and all...but it's cheaper to plan ahead and anticipate a very real need. Current Mobile Home design has not caught up with this reality either (I subscribe to an online journal called 'Mobile Home Living' as well as a FB group focusing on MH design and remodeling) Retrofitting a MH for the needs of an aging population isn't cheap, as many current owners are discovering. The good news is that MH manufacturers are waking up to this reality. I'm not a Mobile or Modular home owner - yet. I'm looking ahead, trying to anticipate my future and avoid costly regrets in design....like a ladder-only-accessible bedroom, or a stove that requires that I stoop over to lift casseroles, etc. below waist height. These are minor things compared to door width, bathing and toilet access, but they ALL add up.

This is a gorgeous place to live with the woods and the large, calm lake. It reminds me of where I spent my summers when I was young and the family and I would visit my grandmother. My uncle later bought the land and house from his Mom and we would visit him and his family. This was in the province of Quebec, a couple of hours north of Montreal. There was a lake a short hike/drive away and when we were older we would portage among the lakes with the canoe. I learned much of my outdoor skills during these summers: how to build and cook on fires, go camping and canoeing, swim far out in different lakes, etc. I never became good at fishing, though! These were wonderful summers. Then when I was in college and after, my family and I would go in the winters and we had our fun of the winter outdoors in the same area. This video is a flashback to those summers because of the location. Thank you for the recollection of good times and a lovely place with my immediate and extended family!😄

Lots of memories will be made here! It’s just beautiful. I think a gorgeous, custom made tiny home outshines a larger home that can’t be spruced up as much because of cost. The lot was a GREAT find. I think MANY tiny home owners would jump at an opportunity like that! Congratulations! I enjoyed watching your video- twice!
