Woman Gains Extra Freedom After Downsizing to a Legal Tiny House in the City + FULL TOUR

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Adelina has been living in her tiny house in Canada for 2 years and says it has only positively impacted her life. She downsized from a 1,200 square foot townhome into a 37' long tiny house built by Teacup Tiny Homes on a gooseneck trailer. Her three main requirements for the house included having a bedroom she could stand up in, a permanent home office space, and a big kitchen so she could cook for her friends and family.

Adelina was able to find a legal place to park her tiny house at a mobile home park because she worked with a CSA-certified builder and had the trailer registered as a park model. Without planning and researching in advance to make sure these things were in place, she would not have been able to find a legal spot to park. The rules are different in each municipality so it's important to ask around before you start building/buying your tiny house!
Tiny House Talk has a great list of communities that accept tiny houses here:
tinyhousetalk.com/communities/
Serendipity is 37' long and 9.5' wide and has a functional layout and beautiful interior design. The living room is at one end of the house next to the entrance and has a vaulted ceiling, an electric fireplace, and a coat closet. The kitchen is u-shaped with loads of counter and storage space. In the hallway, there's a permanent home office space and a massive pantry for food storage. The bathroom has a combo washer-dryer and an RV-sized bathtub. And up a set of storage steps is the bedroom on the gooseneck of the trailer. It has big windows, a storage bed, and a big clothes closet. There's also a loft above the kitchen that could be converted into a guest room, and the space beneath the gooseneck is closed in to create a shed for things like a lawnmower and bicycles.

@@grabithard2534 As Mariirose said, Adelina went to great lengths to make sure that she has the most options. Ceetainly, building tiny can come with certain hurdles, which if you follow Adelina, she will explain how she covered all of her bases. Additionally, any structure erected requires permits, often more than one. Also, with all due respect, she lives in a mobile home park. Plenty of wonderful people live in mobile homes and RVs. A person's character is not directly proportional to his/her pocketbook or address. Please consider watching some of Adelina's videos. Living tiny isn't for everyone, but you will see what a kind, joyous, sweet, funny, and responsible person she is and the wonderful KZread community that she has built.. She is a breath of fresh air in a badly hurting world. Truly, wiishing you much peace and love. ❤❤❤

I appreciate that she’s honest about living in a mobile home park. There is such a disdain for traditional mobile homes (trailers = eww, poors; “tiny house on wheels” aka trailers = socially conscious downsizes! 🙄), so it’s refreshing to see a practical approach. It’s a lovely design. That kitchen is a dream and all that pantry space warms my home cook heart.

Unfortunately mobile homes in my area are going for $200,000+ so they aren't even budget-friendly options anymore. And if they aren't on a permanent foundation, you can't qualify for an FHA loan for one. I'm glad over 55 parks are more affordable for people, though. This is beautiful and a lot bigger than a lot of tiny houses I've seen. With all that storage, it would be perfect for me and I love a big kitchen. If I did a tiny house, I couldn't downsize to a tiny fridge and that's what I love most in the kitchen.

Wow I do love how big is her walk in closet for the Tiny House and also she is able to walk around her bedroom..If I ever wanted to build one for myself, I will opt for the high ceiling factor just like hers and a huge kitchen place....This is the best Tiny House I have ever watched on KZread...

This is the best tiny I have seen and most beautiful. I have seen a lot of tinys. I would want them to build mine if I ever decided to do this. The only thing I would add would be a large closet in the lofts. Nice to be able to stand up in bedroom. I didn't see anywhere mentioned the cost to build the house. Also kitchen and refrigerator are great and pantry. I seldom see this. I would prefer a couple of feet longer so I could have a large shower. Lucky you.

@Kim Hicks She has a couple vids that break down the costs of utilities & to build & why. As for the closet, there’s one at the gooseneck that goes almost the entire length of house. She rotates her seasonal clothing. There’s a tour of her house on her channel that features it more & a lot else.

About 3/4's in when Adelina was lounging on her couch on her laptop sipping on her cuppa... when I had realized I have left my coffee on the counter. She seems happy and content. I think it is brave for her to do something out of the ordinary from her profession career. People’s perception of her doing this may think this is wild. Owning a home with a foundation is an illusion the real owner will show up when property taxes are not paid. The dream of the white picket fence and house in the suburbs was bankers idea sold to the people. We have to really ask ourselves was this my idea or the advertiser idea!?
