People used to say my service dogs were smarter than some people they knew. Dogs are pattern recognizing and quickly figure out what works for them. Some dogs are so good at it that they seem more human than dog.

You have a very special soul there, he’s a gift to you as you are to him. Love the love you three share. Duncan is really smart and shows pure emotion and love. So special!

I’m not a dog lover in the traditional sense. I talk mad shit to animals. But my tone doesn’t match the things I’m saying. That translates to play time for a dog. 😄🤷‍♂️ So if this was my dog, and I was narrating…it would probably be a different video in alotta ways but might just end up being cuter than this one. My favorite thing to do is reach to the sky like I’m trying to grab something, then bring that hand all the way down on the dogs back. If we’re already playing like that. Usually translates into some pretty hard core zoomies. My buddy has a little runt of a beagle…and dude loses his gadam mind whenever I go over there. Like…if he sees me coming up the sidewalk he throws a fit and terrorizes everyone in the house letting them know his buddy is coming to the door an to let him in!

Every dog should have a cat. My cats used to steal extra blankets for the bulldogs. They broke into the pantry and got Gaines burgers out for the bullies. They circled their water dish when they thought I should change their water.

Why can’t dogs live as long as humans 😭 they give us such joy, such unconditional love, and the most support a human can handle.

Excuse me? Literally every claim you just made is patently false and absurd. Dogs are predators. Genetically mutated predators with centuries of inbreeding. Not only are they predators by nature, which by default they’re incapable of empathy or love. That’s a scientific fact, that emotionally unstable humans misinterpret as love when in reality they’re witnessing confusion and parasitic behavior and begging for food. Not love🙄 Two. How can a animal that’s incapable of logic or reason, communication and lacking the intelligence to disregard it’s own feces and vomit…. How can THAT possibly give humans emotional support? Three: dogs are the only pets on earth that must be trained and socialized to curb their natural behavior in order to make them suitable and less dangerous in the home. Just think about all the animals out there that are in need of a safe, loving home. If our pets lived as long as we did then the amount of animals in need of a home would increase dramatically because people can only have so many animals at one time. Also the amount being euthanized would increase because of no room in the shelters. I wish they could all live longer too, but l also think about how many I've been able to have because they don't. It's a bittersweet situation. 💜💔💜

Some of the best animals I've had were dumb, and completely loveable.

Every person is different. Only YOU know when your ready to bring home another pet after one has passed away. For some people it's the next day, for others it's years. For me, it was 9 months after my first Pomeranian passed away. Our hearts let us know when we're ready. 💕 Hugs to Duncan and his Mom. 💖

Yes, that is true. After my sweet little dog passed away I said that was the last pet I would have. Then a couple of years later a cat followed me home and parked herself at my front door. So that was over 11 years ago and at this moment she is sleeping all cuddled next to me. I didn't think there would ever be a time to bring home another pet, but fate had other ideas. You never know.

Everything on this planet can be dangerous, it all depend on how you are raised and mental health issues, if you beat a human he will fight back, why should a dog say nothing and take daily abuse, they have emotions too and at some point they snap and defend themselves. Treat them with love and you will get more love from them than your own family.

Duncan is definitely a joyously unique personality! He seems to get more joy from life than a lot of people I know. Duncan and you are blessed to have each other.

You don’t realize how smart he is . Pits are some of smartest & most loyal dogs in the world. I raised them thru the 80s&90s & have had one all my adult life until 2017 until my best friend my love of my heart my family Chica passed away at 15 yrs. No pit could ever replace her she’s deeply missed & Chica was one of my smartest dogs ever. Now I have 2 little mutts & the 1st one I got a lady I know called me the same day Chica passed & asked would I take her lil dog Missy & I did. Then on the very day I list another pup I’d had for several yrs passed, my sons friend called & asked me on the same day Felix passed would I take jack, that blows my mind. So God replace my 2 sweethearts with 2more sweethearts the same days I lost 2 I gained 2

What a wonderful soul he is...thank you for saving him.

I just love how every pit has their own quirky personality with some funky habits but they are almost ALWAYS a Big Love that likes to snuggle and be with their people. So while they may not be the sharpest they certainly give off allot of Love and bounce back from bad situations; while also having a memory of that past as i had one that hated rolled up newspapers as she was beat as a puppy

I lost when he mounts on the statue and drinks water. LOL so adorable.

It wouldn’t harm anyone. It’s not like letting Children share a dog’s water bowl. Worse things happen in a fountain.

If you don’t want to drink from the fountain don’t….but if someone wants to let their dog drink from it, it’s a public fountain. Drunk people have probably peed on that very same fountain many times over. Fountains are Pitri dish of germs before the dogs get near it. Would anyone drink, or let their kids drink from a fountain after seeing a dog drink from it? No, but it’s nobody’s place to get upset with an owner for giving their dog a drink, that was my point here

I absolutely love him ❤. He is a sweetheart! It's amazing how much they "pitbulls" love people even though they have been abused.

This story really resonates with me. I got my current dog to heal from the loss of my all time fav dog. She is strange in that she eats wind snow rain. She’s quirky and that’s new for me. I’ve gone from a pedigree dog to a farm like dog and it has saved my life. She makes me be the best human I can be and my healing is great.

He isn't dumb just quirky. A lot of pitties have quirks and this is what makes them so unique.

I train dogs and pitties are one of my favorites, loaded with personality coming out of their ears, lol and wonderful with people especially children unless they have been seriously mistreated, even then they heal better than any breed around when shown love.

Awe, what a beautiful story . I'm so glad you got Duncan he is a beautiful boy and Coco is also a beautiful cat. Animal can sense when they are needed even when it in a different species. Which is so amazing . I'm so glad that they have bond with both you and each other.

Seeing Duncan, and his cat :), made me VERY happy. We love animals, my dh and I have been married over 45yrs, he's a veterinarian who's work is 1/2 rescue, 1/2 vet. We have had the best animal family members over time. I wish animals had human longevity, but things are as God created, and we shall abide.
