This is one of the sweetest abandoned deer story I've ever seen! The bonding with his "momma" was just adorable!! And how he's integrated himself with the wild deer but yet comes back and gives his momma lovin', is wonderful. Love how he lays on the porch like a big dog would... that's awesome!

It is one (amazing) thing to see these clips of professional rescuers - but seeing someone being thrown into raising an unusual pet by accident and doing well and getting all this love and affection is just on another level :)

i think as humans we feel so satisfied when we help and connect with animals , its like this is in us , its so fulfilling, no words for the joy they bring ,great story

That is so cool that the deer remained grateful to his human Mom and actually came back on occasion just to let her know that "Hey I'm doing OK Mom". Its a win win for both parties involved. The interaction that people have with animals on here of varying degrees reminds me all the time that humans are animals too although we are on a more sophisticated level. Its a beautiful thing.

Sounds like you were meant to experience motherhood!! Your furbaby is just SO magnificent!! You've done well, mama!! Letting him choose his friends and having them come around to meet you, quick - write it all down in a children's book!!! No one has had your experience, but you - I'd for sure read this!!! She's an "Earth Angel", not everyone is kind enough to change their life around to care for a Little Deer. But you did, and now he's your wildlife friend forever!

Her relationship with Thor was pretty special. His mushings were so tender. I didn’t realize deer are that sweet and lovable. She has some property for him to stretch out and grow into. Kind hearted woman and a great video. Wow. ❤🐕

@stuart mcclean Uh NO. Deers are camouflaged with their natural coloring. Putting a orange collar or whatever on them just makes them easier for the hunters to spot. You might as well stick a target on him.

I absolutely love this story! They say if your wrap his horns in bright colors & put a bandana around his neck… the hunters know he’s a pet & wont shoot him! He’s just too beautiful to be hunted & definitely a loving member of your family ♥️🥰♥️

That's sounds like a great idea for Thor to have a bandana around his neck for protection from all hunters and predators, like wolves and other wildlife animals❤.

Thats so cool that he still comes back to moms to check in from time to time, especially after 3 yrs! What an awesome deer mom!😊

Oh goodness, I am welling up watching this! I too raised a little buck during quarantine when wild life rescue was not accepting orphaned babies. My baby buck was with us for two years and the last rut season did not return. It is indescribable the love and joy I gave and received from this little guy. Treasure these moments!

What a beautiful story. I've never had to raise a fawn but I've had the same 2 herds in my field and woods for years. 5th generation coming up. Every year the mommas bring their new babies to introduce them to me. They eventually get names as all my deer friends do. They really do change your life for the better 🦌❤

There is no feeling in the world, no sense of fulfillment, like that of bonding with a wild animal. It touches something inside of us that nothing else can touch. This lady is truly blessed, and I’m sure she knows that.

Thank you for remembering deer are meant to be wild. 💜 I’m the daughter of a state land & wildlife manager & we had just about every animal breed possible at the office &/or our house for rehab over the decades. The only one that wasn’t then successful in the wild was a raccoon, so my best friend’s family adopted him. He was a pill! I’m glad you get to visit with Thor now & then. I live on a mountain with a herd of deer & they visit me at my open window all the time. It’s been 12 years now that they’re still here, for the most part except for the bucks who leave to make their own herds. They make tiny excited noises when they spot me or my cat, but it took me a while to figure out it was them making that weird sound. 😂 Such magical creatures deer are! 🦌
