All the evidence leading up to it.... him putting the car in Walmart. Then moving it to the hospital. They saying he took her to a different hospital and she came out "not pregnant", while the hospital has no paper work or video of her or them ever being there. There is a lot of circumstancal evidence to convict him. I'm surprised it took so long.

Apart from that, there is also CCTV footage that shows him driving Kelsie’s car and withdrawing $400 from her bank account the morning after she vanished. When all this got combined with Donthe’s former home catching fire just weeks after officers searched it for evidence, he was charged and arrested for his former girlfriend’s mysterious murder. Their star witness, who would have allegedly testified that Donthe confessed the killing to her, couldn’t make it to court as she was shot to death just days before. Nevertheless, after just three hours of deliberation, on March 8, 2021, a 12-member jury found him guilty of first-degree murder, and the judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

You have to have probable cause for a warrant to search. If there is no evidence so to speak then they can't. The phone possibly but we don't know all the evidence they do have, his phone, might have already been searched. You see 20 mins of the "investigation" you don't know what they have or don't have. I'm sure nothing happened in the home- either the young ladies car or outside somewhere it seems, and I'm sure she was dumped somewhere-so until they have a body or bones, now since it's been years- then they will go from there. Some murders and murderers never get caught or never get solved and it's not from lack of law enforcement not doing their jobs. You make assumptions you know nothing about, typical anymore.

This man didn't want to take responsibility for his actions. He's not even a man in my opinion. Over 20 years ago I myself was in a worse situation than this man was. I was separated from my wife and got my new girlfriend pregnant. She wasn't seeing anyone else and I absolutely knew that I was the father. We had been living together for months so I knew. My girlfriend was so infatuated with me that she gave me whatever I wanted. So when she told me she was pregnant, I said well I guess that we are going to have a baby. And everything turned out great. Our daughter is such a wonderful human being. I got divorced and married my girlfriend.

The fact that he took her car after she “disappeared”, then drained her bank account mean nothing ffs?! Then lied to the parents about her phone being lost, but then the parents receive a text from her from her phone ?! They have video of him driving her car to Walmart before walking away…then 18 hours later someone dumps her car miles away in a hospital parking lot? I would be furious with the local CO police if I were that poor girl’s family and friends! Did they confiscate Donte’s phone to review for evidence? I pray this horrible case is solved. 😢

This show is more about the suspect and victims’ lives and backgrounds. It seems pointless to talk to people who aren’t cooperating with authorities. It’s all for effect. I haven’t watched this whole thing yet so idk if they mention this, but a woman, Roxann Martinez was “a witness in the trial against Donthe Lucas, who is accused of murdering Schelling in 2013” and she was scheduled to testify in the trial, but was murdered by a man, Emmanuel Chandler (her ex boyfriend) and they don’t think it’s related at all ?!?! They’re saying it was a domestic violence related incident but he shot her, dumped her in a street gutter and poured bleach all over her. I’m sorry how is that not a coincidence ?

I don't know how or why anyone would be "surprised" or have an "unexpected" pregnancy? If you engage in sex, literally the act that is designed to cause pregnancy & create a baby, there is absolutely no reason that a pregnancy is unexpected. Regardless of whether or not they use "protection." Birth control/protection is not 100% guaranteed. If someone is not responsible enough to handle the result (a child) of having sex then they are not responsible enough to have sex.

Got huge laughs from the audience. This is an extremely common crime, I am a true crime addict and can tell you that it's very common for an uninterested father to kill a pregnant girlfriend, I even remember it happened in one case where the girlfriend was just teasing. One thing I've learnt in live is to trust your parents guts. When they don't feel good about the boy or man you're dating pull yourself first most of the time God protects us like that. That's why the Bible says children obey your parents for you to have a happy and long life. Not because of this case only but some people I personally know about. I feel for the parents of this beautiful girl myself being a parent 😢. Sending love and strength to the parents sending prayers too

Tell your daughters not to date dudes like this. It literally NEVER ends well. He lied about her hospital visit and used her debit card after she went missing. Literally nothing about this story should surprise anyone. This case will only he solved when one of his crackhead friends gets in trouble and snitches him out to save themselves from a drug or gun charge.

Actually it has happened a lot with white guys too. I am a true crime addict and this is a common crime, in fact a white guy you could say would have more motivation since he's probably going to be earning more therefore will be on the hook for more maintenance.

This guy killed a female witness too one week before the trial! What a criminal He was charged though for murder of his pregnant girlfriend

There is technology to determine how tall that " guy in the hoodie " is...they would know the height of her vehicle in the Walmart parking lot and use that to calculate his height.

His mom helped him hide the body and was also arrested for robbery just hours after she was informed that her son was involved in the homicide

You sound like the show "Dexter". I loved that show!!! It was Dexter terminating Proven murders that some how got away with it in their trial!!! Sending hugs n prayers to this beautiful girls family n friends!!! She had sooooo much to live for n a creep like this took that from her.. People like this do not deserve to still breathe. I feel sooooo heart broken for her family!!!

He had to have buried her, that's why he took the teddy and rosary. They need to figure out where he was and locations he was familiar with to find her. He probably told a few people where she is.
