I never even thought of owning a Pitt, not because of peoples wrong opinions, just didn’t consider it. Then a puppy was abandoned outside of my wife’s salon. We took her to vet, got all shots, and tried to find her a home. Seven months later she’s a year old, perfect health, and her permanent home ended up being mine. She’s been a complete blessing, a million smiles a day with her.

GOD BLESS these people for adopting these beautiful animals!!

THANK YOU for accepting, loving, and recognizing Sweet Pea for the beautiful dog she is! IMO, her quirky ears only add to her beauty! Absolutely true that dogs are typically a mirror image of the environment they live in. What most people fail to understand is that despite their past, pit bulls (and staffies) are so forgiving and intelligent that they can be rehabilitated to become the model dog that most people ooh and ahh over! All they need is to be given a chance!

But I knew that in the 1800's they were known as "The Nanny Dog" because they were so protective of, and good with kids. Elsa is the best dog I have ever had. I rescued her from a No-Kill Shelter. I had 2 pitties and loved them. They are not aggressive unless you make them that way. They are very loyal. Most people don’t know that they used to be the most popular dog in the 20’s and 30’s. The dog on Our Gang Comedy was a pittie and the dog on the RCA emblem listening to the gramophone was a pittie.

She is adorable! They are both adorable. Loved your story and so happy Sweet Pea survived all those surgeries; experiencing them must have been awful. Loads of ♥🇬🇧 from a staffy owner.

That is an anomaly for any breed, and there are many reasons why a dog would turn aggressive that has nothing to do with breed. It's a mistake to reason from the particular to the general.@@zammmerjammer

The dog was abused and it's likely the well-meaning owners failed to see potential signs of aggression. You are reasoning from the particular to the general, which is a flawed form of reasoning. I just woke up wedged between my two pitties and I never felt safer.@@zammmerjammer

Well I have grown to love pitties❤. I think they are the sweetest dogs there are. I have seen abused and vicious dogs from this breed because of the way that they were used. I believe this is the behavior of all rescues. I adopted a pit from the shelter near me. All the months he was there no one ever visited him. He is allergic to things growing outside so looked horrible. He’s now on medication for allergies and looks wonderful. Thanks to you for adopting an unwanted pittie. They are great pets!

Nobody told you that this dog is beautiful? That is because most people have no idea and have prejudices. She IS beautiful...and i would tell her thatevery time i meet her.
