They are adorable until the millisecond they are not; And in that time they are half way to your face with tooth and claw ready to rip and tear!!! The most effective intimidation strategies can be hidden, but whipped out at a second's notice! :P ... Also they smell horrible. ;P

Anyone else wonder at why a Wolverine is in a zoo?
Жыл бұрын
Although the IUCN classifies the wolverine as "least concern", its regional classification in Finland is critically endangered. Conservation has strengthened our wolverine population, but in the reindeer husbandry area wolverines are still considered as pests, and their population has not been able to grow in the northernmost part of Finland - environmental education about the species is therefore very important. Our wolverine is part of the EAZA Ex-situ Programme (EEP), which aims to keep the wolverine population in zoos viable in case there is need for reintroduction projects. In total, there are about 100 wolverines in European zoos. These animals are not taken from the wild, they are born in zoos and move between zoos as part of the EEP programme.
