That's because 1 they have a built in fanbase being associated with a school 2 college players are significantly sexier 3 college players are more skilled then WNBA players. I'll explain why, only the genetic freaks who are reliant on their height, get drafted into the WNBA and the college system is less strict on measurables and more focused on skill development. 4 they're more interesting games to bet on and march madness for mens NCAA bleeds over into the women's tournament continuing the hype. 5 college players just play they dont push political agendas.

Although I do agree with them that lowering the rim doesn't solve the problems of the wnba. 12 year olds play on 10ft rims just fine with limited to no dunking, there are different ways to improve their game than the rim lowering

I went to a WNBA game the other day because it was part of my criminal punishment as community service…. isn’t that sad 😔? A judge actually declared that i be there to commence my hours. There were 2 other games i needed to attend but i couldn’t do it. I couldn’t last. I called my attorney and turned myself in. Now i sit here in general population thinking how bad a punishment it was for me to sit through that stomach turning, nauseating, revolting and sickening display of community center basketball. All i could think of when i was there was they actually charge tickets !!!!! for this. 🤦🏻‍♂️ But guess what? That judge is a genius. As i sat there, all i could do was think of how much of a waste of time i was enduring and what has become of my life. All the poor choices that were made and how they could’ve been prevented. I didn’t even watch the game as i sat there staring into the back of some other poor miserable man’s head who was probably forced to go to the game with his wife. Sporting a cheap buzz cut probably chosen by his wife made me think of why men throw in the towel after marriage. A poor lost soul who had seen to much to be saved. There was nothing i can do. Just like the poor man i accepted my fate. By the 4th quarter i took off. I felt like i was enslaved by a cult and found freedom. That experience will stay with me for the rest of my life. I’ve officially retired from crime and now i’m paying my debt to society. I vowed to never speak of this incident ever, but the back of that man’s head made me do it. If we lost one i’m pretty sure more are on the way. Stay safe out there.

What’s so crazy to me is that I am 100% sure that everyone in the WNBA actually already knows all of this. Everybody has been telling them what’s wrong for years they just choose to ignore it, be defensive, and not fix anything.

The refusal to make adjustments to gore the league in the name of “misogyny” is insane. NCAA women’s basketball is fire, most of those girls don’t go to the league, they could make more being a lawyer or something. Yes. Some rules need to be changed if the league wants to get more popular. The nba rules are set to the standards set by incredible male athletes. The wnba needs to optimize their rules to fit better with the strengths of their players. Dunking is not going to happen no matter what, so let's find a different way to change the rules to fit these ladies. Allow for harder contact without being a foul, try different playstyles, different lineups, new rules... whatever is needed to make this more enjoyable

If you google the last few WNBA games, out of the 36 games that have happened so far including preseason there is only ONE game where one of the teams scored more than 100 points. In addition to this, each WNBA quarter is 10 minutes instead of the 12 minutes in the NBA. Why do they accept a shorter playing time but not lowering the rim where it would significantly help them??

In volleyball, the net is lower. In tennis, they play less sets. Football is non-existent. Baseball the women don't even pitch the same and are 30 feet closer to the plate. A nine foot rim isn't out of the question.

I will say this, the 1996 Olympic Women teams was fire. They got more viewers than Dream Team 3. The reason the WNBA was created. The female talent like the men talent level in the NBA has decreased drastically since then

The difference between the WNBA and a business (the Savannah Bananas) is that a business tries to find what it can do to draw the interest of potential customers to increase their ROI, whereas the WNBA players believe that they DESERVE the interest of the masses, because of who they are. They may feel that way, but they will end up just like that restaurant whose chef refused to give customers salt, pepper, or condiments, because his job was to cook, the customers job was to enjoy it the way he intended it. His restaurant went bust.
