@@thehomefront1905 he’s right most of the metal parts won’t do you any good depending on what you’re doing with these buggies, only metal parts I really recommend and find are a need would be the front transmission box (maybe the rear too) and then the steering assembly and cups but leave the arms alone

Couldn't agree more, I have done the same with my 124017. Went all metal due to excitement then realised how much of a weight disadvantage was added. I also noticed too much play in metal turnbuckles and steering assembly. The extra weight adds much more stress to motor ESC and drive train and made the car under steer alot.

I went full metal on a wltoys and it was a mistake. Rods would just break from driving at high speed even without hitting anything. When a crash did happen, pretty much every single metal piece broke or bent. I put it all back to stock. It's better I think. Metal looks cooler but there is a place for it on an RC, and the entire car isn't the place for it. Swing arms? sure. gearing?...depends on the metal quality but sure. Chassis? Depends on what the car is for, racing yes, but for bashing metal probably is not the best. I actually prefer plastic Chassis generally.

I bought one of these kits and put it together this exact way. Within 3 minutes of the first run post upgrade, two screws backed out and fell off in a grass field and the pull rods won't stay the correct length. Back to the original parts we go.

i did a full metal conversion of the 124007 1/12 scale and the upgraded parts fit super good in this newer version so dont be afraid to order go ahead the arms are thicker less gaps and now come with 2 extra needed bearings for the rear to have 3 in total for each side for clearance so overall perfect upgrade for me.

Great informative video. Have you bashed the all metal Wltoys in a skate park? How did it hold up?

I do this metal upgrade and its just worthed for me , the problem with them only if you play extreme like you hit anything in front of you, but if you play it well the metal gave more stability, if you can't control your rc dont hit full throttle

Will these parts fit on a helion animus 18mt? They look a lot alike. Helion went out of business and I can't find parts that I need. There are some but not much. I'm hoping someone on here will know.

Why would the pull bar rub the arms and construct the tires from fully turning!?

I did a full metal upgrade with a different but very similar set. On the front wheel assembly, I had a major issue with the screws that secure the steering arms. The steering arms extend inside of the body of the wheel, and the screws that keep them in place for the full metal upgrade have a large rounded head. Those screw heads rub against the inside of the wheel when you're driving. You can *almost* see the same issue in this video at around 12:03, behind the "B" of the Banggood logo. I ended up just reinstalling the ball that the plastic arms use and using some pliers to force the ball & the metal arm together. Not great. Did you run into this too?

I didn't have the same problem as yours, but you can try to fix it by grinding the head of the screw a bit, i think it should be fine.

@@HMGCreative was just going to suggest doing either that or sourcing a machined hex top screw of same size. Normally what, 10 bucks or less for a big kit of screws / ect for these things?

Excellent video, excellent work! But putting lubricating paste on the reels?!? In plastic?! It will roll better, and make less noise, but it will create the effect of slipping, and the plastic will lose all its teeth!

DO the alloy upgrades make the car heavier?

I commented below that have the same problem that Dennis with part 1525, the rear seat wheel. I watched the full video in the link you provide in your reply to Dennis and that part is not dissasembled there. My problem is that I broke it and had to replace it. That part is joined to the arm with a very tight metal bar that I do not know how to take out. I do not know what took can be used for that. If you could give me a clue I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot for the video.

He doesn't mention the grease he's using, but in case you're looking for a recommendation there too, I'm using Lucas Oil Red "N" Tacky Grease #2. It's widely available and from what I've read, it's very commonly used in the RC crowd. I got a 1 pound tub of it on Walmart. Way overkill for maintaining 1 car but there are other things it can be used for

Yes,I had a bad crash in my 124017 and I snapped part of the front gearbox housing straight of where it attached to the metal plate for the shock towers. Looking for a metal replacement ( I'm surprised he put the plastic ones back on ) they were selling on banggood and aliexpress and they all said they fitted 144001/124016/124017 /124019 etc etc I ordered it and it fits mine and they were advertised for this as well

The only part i needed to know how to disassemble wasn't disassembled! I need to replace item 1252 as can be seen in the video at 5:16. That's the part most close to his finger in the top of the screen. Has anybody any idea how to remove this?

My problem, and perhaps Dennis is that that pat is joined to the arms with a very tight metal bar that I do not know how to take out. I broke that part and need to repair it if you could give me a clue I would appreciate it. Thans a lot.

You should run it for a month and a half and then try this also you didnt show how you got the glued screws loose ain't no way you undone them by hand.
