All the old shows..... Barney Miller, All in the family, etc were the absolute best! What happened to television? The older we get the worse the shows get!
The Secret Service man in this episode also played the FBI man that Robert Barone interviewed with on Everybody Loves Raymond.
The opening scene in this is brilliant.
I love when Mr. Carlson’s strength comes shining through!

Well-put. 'm a solid KRP fan, this is one of the best of a handful of really good dramatic moments. Well-written, acted and directed. Gordon Jump apparently kept them in stiches btwn takes.

Exactly.
They just don’t make TV like this anymore. Funny, poignant and reflective.
I've always thought this was one of the best episodes.
Love this show
Damn, I miss this show. Such fantastic writing and vivid characters.

And they’re genuinely nice good people who care about each other. And so funny without being rude
This, to me, was WKRP at it's best.
Mr Carlson is a helpful man when needed.
This show feels like my office dynamics.
There's no good sitcoms on TV anymore.. WKRP, Taxi, Happy Days, Mork and Mindy, Cheers..

😮 probably true...I don't have a TV and haven't since...idk when. I only watch old series and movies on the Internet. The best stuff! American and Canadian shows like WKRP, Barney Miller, Red Green, Corner Gas...and British shows like Are You Being Served?, Get Some In, Last of the Summer Wine, First of the Summer Wine, Steptoe and Son...I've no interest in modern productions.
Very heartfelt episode. ❤
I love this episode.🙂
$3 out of $5. My last haircut was $20.00. And grandpa said he once paid two bits, shave included ☹
What's really remarkable is unlike shows today, they allow silence to make a statement more intense.
booker tee and the mg's!!! green onion
Harvey could have been Les's Dad because there was 23 years difference between them. Usually it's a lot less.
Hits hard liked the episode 😢
Back when this country was still smart enough to know that communism/socialism is a terrible idea.

Not in our universities. That goes back about 100 years. Plus, don't forget, in this show, the Pentagon hired a card carrying communist to cut hair, (Less's father at one time). But nobody cared to ask the question why the secrete service hires communists. Oh well, it is just TV. :)

Hmmm...no actually this was a pretty lefty show in retrospect. While Andy did keep the Union out of the station, he got some major improvements for the station out of it. The Union episode is the start of the story arc of Season 4 that is IMO one of the best in TV history.

Socialism is not the same as communism. Social democracies are the most successful and pleasant countries to live in. Socialism gives you decent healthcare, good schools, good policing and fire fighting, and good maternity and family leave. It’s pretty dumb to support and subsidize the rich and treat the tax paying majority like dirt. That’s allowing yourself to be exploited and being happy about it!

No.Socialism is a great idea and it's not communism.
