In the spirit of "open & honest" I will comment today about the role of eBay in my life. Because I am lucky enough to be getting older I realize more acutely that our time on earth is finite. Ebay is helping me find new homes for the wonderful things I've joyfully collected over the years because I can't take my glassware and Nik Naks with me. Trading them for some extra spending money is fun too and I enjoy the process. But I also know that being with my children and grandchildren and friends that I love is really is what matters to me now. I won't allow the pressure to "feed the beast" of eBay's algorithm keep me from doing those things. I will choose a day with loved ones over a day of listing every time and I want to do this stress free. I am "committed" to living each day of my life as if it were my last because someday it will be. I know everyone has a different goal with their eBay business and for many the pressure to sell is very real. Your Boot Camp is giving many of those people the help they need to get motivated. You and Mark have always been generous with your time and knowledge. Thank you for that.

Your videos are inspirational. The time and attention you put into your eBay store, and KZread is a lot! It helped me realize that working full time and attending to my elderly mother leaves very little "extra time." It isn't a good time for me to make the commitment to start listing right now, but boy when I do, you know I'll be re-watching your videos. I do enjoy your information, and the way you present it. We had a very similar experience at Outback Steak House. We were seated immediately. Order cokes, and they brought bread. The waiter took our order. There were 3 parties seated after we were. We started to notice that all 3 tables were served their food before us. We realized that we had not seen our waiter since he had taken our order. We flagged down a waitress to see if she could find out where our food was and if she could locate our missing waiter. Finally our waiter was walking towards our table. He looked at us and kept walking. I said to my husband rather loudly, "Are you kidding me?" The waiter heard me and walked back to our table. He was trying to tell us some story about why our food was late. I looked at him as I was standing up. Told him that I didn't want to hear any lame excuse. We walked out. I wrote corporate and told them what happened. They wanted us to try again and they would discount our meal. I told them that I would NEVER set foot in their restaurant again.

I bit the bullet yesterday and finally got an item listed. It took me hours! And I already had the pics and draft ready! I think I was researching again and trying to figure the shipping and making work for myself. I had purchased 3 lots of homemade fabric dolls a month ago. Some maybe worth $15. Okay not much but hey, they aren't breakable! Well, I did all of the work and then try to figure the shipping. Good thing I did! These are mostly 15 inches tall. I don't have boxes or polybags for that size and not worth the time to build 10+ boxes! I finally grabbed almost all of them and put them in a large trash bag so I can take them down to my favorite thrift next week. Woke up this morning to a sale! (something listed last summer). You know, instead of yipee!, my reaction was "oh, no". I got it all packed up and in the mail--seemed to take a long time--and when I got back in the house I said, "I really don't want to do this anymore". 😞 I guess it hasn't helped that it's been 80-85 degrees IN THE HOUSE this week but I do see a trend....and it's not fun. I like to source but even the making money isn't fun now. Maybe I'll feel better when the heat wave breaks. Perhaps clean out the house of piles and boxes and start all over again. Aren't you glad you asked about challenges? Thanks for sharing yours. You want some cheese with this whine? 🙂

Some days, it takes me a long time too Lynne. Research can eat up our time fast on certain things. We always seem to have a "donate" pile. Sometimes, we do what we've gotta do and pass it on rather than spend time on it. WooHoo for your sale! Yes, I'm glad I asked. And, yes...I wouldn't mind some cheese with my whine.

My goal is 10 a day (7 days) (started in March) I have made it mostly over the months but have started cutting back on Sunday- we all need a day to rest. I try not to beat myself up when I can't get all ten done- I just do what I can.

Another entertaining video! You and I must have had similar Math teachers in grade school. 10% off of two separate meals is still 10% off. I was in mortgage lending for several years and was training a new processor. I remember that we had a customer who had a rate of something like 6.625% which equates out to be 6 5/8. I could not figure out why we weren't getting the same monthly premium. I finally asked her how she was arriving at her figures. She interpreted 6 5/8 as 6.58%.

I just upgraded to the Basic store and have committed to working on 16 listings M-F. In your video wk3 Boot Camp you mentioned you wanted to know if anyone would like you to show how to list categories. I would. I have started my categories but do not know how to do the subcategories and would like help. Also, please show some techniques for cleaning things. I'm still very slow at listing items yet, with your encouragement and insight on the eBay store I feel that I can complete my listings faster and better to meet the customer's needs. Yes, it does take effort to track everything. Thanks, Sandy!

If they use your coupons but they still make an offer, what do you recommend?

I removed "make offer" on our listings to set sales and coupons. But, if I had a coupon and they still made an offer, I would probably reply with something like, "thank you for your offer; however, at this time due to the coupon offer, additional discounts are not available." Something like that. Thanks, Rosa!
