Every school looks op in their own right, and I love it. The best way to balance the game is give everyone a bunch of OP counters and let them duke it out. Reminds me of the shad into the shad meta, but way more sophisticated and less RNG based. It's basically who can play their cards the smartest

You're right but if that fire shield spammed against my ice it would be a terrible move since I'm using myth as my secondary school. Not to mention that steal ward is a thing as well. Anyone who spams shields against my ice will instantly rethink that choice of playstyle.
