I watched The Wizard of Oz as a kid whenever it came on. I liked it well enough but I think it scared me a little. Anyway, in preparation for this camp, I read the book and now have a new-found appreciation for the story. I even journaled about this in my Oz journal. 🙂 Yes, I started my journal!!

Hello Rebecca...I like the old classic imagination of OZ as well. However, I heard a very sad fact about making the costume of the lion...they wanted it to be as realistic as possible, so they had 3 lions killed for no other reason but to make the lion costume. 😢...when I heard this sad fact, I was upset that the filmmaker s chose to do that. It was sad enough that Buddy Ebsen, who was suppose to play the part of the tin man couldn't because he was allergic to the silver paint substance when they put it on him. So now, if I ever watch the movie again, I will pray for the sad and cruel loss of the three lions. Anyway, thought that I should share that with you, maybe you can put a tribute to the cowardly, turned brave lion in a part of your journal. 😔

I just happened to stumble upon your YT last week and am joining in. I will admit it won't be elaborate because I don't have a lot of junk journaling stuff and I live very rural so shopping is limited but it will be fun. I posted my journal on my community spot on YT. So glad you are here! Welcome! Yes I live about 20 minutes from the nearest store and 30 from Walmart lol! So yes ley your imagination go!!!

There are some interesting differences in the book. The wizard gives the characters different items than what is in the movie, Dorothy's shoes are a different color. There is a lovely part of Oz that wasn't in the movie (but they added it to the movie Oz the Great and Powerful. I've read all the books. Some of them get creepy.

Your video 4 just popped up as a suggestion for me and guess where I live? Yup, Kansas! My aunt’s name is Dorothy! However, I’ve never named one of my dogs Toto, but I did make my Pomeranian be “Toto” when I was Dorothy one Halloween (as an adult btw!). So I’m behind, however, I will save your videos as I do have a vintage Wizard of Oz book that I’ve been waiting for inspiration. I’m in the middle of a huge card order, BUT this will be next on my list!

ahhh! So glad you are here!! How fun! My grandmother's name was Dorothy, but she didn't go by it. She used her middle name:)
