Ruben Lage its called makeup...she looks Asian :)). I guess though its for the video since it has that sci fi anime style. At least that's what it looks like to me. She looks way better with less makeup on. I saw some live videos while she was promoting My Indigo. Way better than adding so much that you're not able do distinguish natural facial expressions easily. In any case...this video is still freaking amazing

I'm 36 years old. Got into metal etc at 14. Found this band when I was younger and haven't looked back

Jacoby is a legend for 2000s rock. Also, Sharon has a beautiful voice, with Jacoby's voice, this song is a big legend.

I'm not original in saying so, but I just love how they're able to constantly bring something fresh and new to the table without ever losing themselves. I'm in love. This song rocks, and is even greater live, as I had the honour to witness in Birmingham 5 days ago.

I agree. Theyre doing a USA tour soon and I might go see them in Chicago. They've been on my bucket list of bands I need to see. I've been listening to this band since Silent Force came out and they've always been one of my favorites. Like the Gathering (which I was fortunate enough to see right before Anneke left), if I don't see them I'll hate myself. Also, WT should really think about getting Mick Moss from Antimatter on one of their tracks. His voice and Sharons voice together on a track would be mindblowing.

Who cares if it's different from their usual songs? It's the same energy, badassery and awesomeness. Within Temptation conquers hearts and minds just by sighing. I totally dig this song and video. Love it! Now, time to make my neighbors move to another city. The replay button is gonna learn.

it really doesn't... i find myself as bored as trying to listen to Hydra it's just not what many of us want or are into they're trying to break away from their Symphomic Metal roots but they won't be able to do that with most of their old fans they'll have to find a different fan base i'm afraid this is where i jump off myself and go to find some new bands in Symphonic Metal.

It took time but the song grew on me. It's just so different but that is true with pretty much every new album now because WT was never afraid of reinventing themselves and won't settle down in a comfort zone which is respectable. I don't know why some people want them to release the same album over and over again instead of trying new things because they are capable of more.

Moonbathers is far from my favorite album by Delain, but I love that it feels to some degree like a collection of their styles over the years. A focus on their most modern style, but still with songs that felt like throwbacks to their older works. I wish more bands did that, instead of trying a new style and keeping it for the entire album, almost alienating some of the older fans. Basically, this song feels like a further evolution from the tonal shift in Hydra, and that's okay, I just hope that unlike Hydra the album _also_ has some songs that feel to some degree like their older works. And I liked Hydra. It just felt like a major shift with very little throwback. I don't know if I was able to word that right.

No one wants them to release the same album over and over again. A lot of people want them to stay true to the style and genre that made them successful, probably (as in my case) because they prefer that genre to the stuff they nowadays play. I'm not disliking the stuff they did on Hydra and I like the new song as well. But them changing the genre has lessened my general interest in the band and while I still listen to their early albums from time to time (especially The Silent Force and The Heart of Everything) , I don't do that with their newer stuff. Not saying it's bad, it just isn't my cup of tea, and yeah, I think it's not as good as their older albums. And just to give a point of comparison, look at Nightwish. They haven't been afraid to reinvent themselves either, they don't settle down in a comfort zone and they most certainly don't release the same album over and over. And still, their last album is unmistakingly symphonic metal, and it still has the essence of Nightwish written all over it. So you can do all what you applaud WT for by naturally evolving your style, and unluckily that's not how I feel WT went about it.

The song is growing on me as well, but it feels more electronic/dubstep than symphonic metal to me. Eluarelon's post was pretty much spot on. Trying to reconcile dubstep beats with symphonic metal is not an easy task...so whether you like it or not, ya gotta give them props for trying. That said, this is also just the one song from the album. No point in basing an entire opinion on a single...er, single.

because they already set their sound they were meant to be a Symphonic Metal band, i don't see WT lasting much longer now, look what's happened to Paramore and then My Chemical Romance, Paramore is totally different now and MCR broke up because one of the main reasons was they were made to change their music too but we all got into WT under the impression it was a Symphonic Metal band i believe?, all that's happening now is bands are turning into something they aren't into a different Genre so we can no longer listen we have lost faith in so much these days, it's not just in music but tv shows, games, movies, books... *sigh* we don't want watered down music so they can make easy money we want good quality music and Symphonic Metal is truely amazing i know there's so much crap going on again these days but nah... u can't base ur band on a style of music then totally flip the table and change it. I hated Hydra and i don't like this either, indeed very disapointing we can't continue to support a band or singer that's no longer the style we love and the reason for listening and getting into them from the start, that they did so well with this Genre and their unique twist to it is one of the things we dearly loved about Within Temptation it's not wrong to love Symphonic Metal and the particurlar style of it, it's so upbeat, enchanting and energetic it really sets a perfect atmosphere now we'll not get to see that with Within Temp again no doubt... they don't seem to care how many fans they've let down either.

I think Irina means Symphonic Metal as a genre, not symphonic as an adjective. That aside, let's look at the definition: "Symphonic metal is a subgenre of heavy metal music which combines the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra." So she is wrong, but that's okay. Music genres are difficult and when things sound but a little different or are simple new, people automatically are sceptic about it. This is about as symphonic as metal gets. It's got the heavy drums and guitars of the harder and rougher metal music, but it also has the orchestral voice, choir and around the 3 minute mark you have the shift that is almost trademark for symphonic metal in which they use destinctively different instruments. Mostly keyboard work, but the fact remains that this falls perfectly under the definition and the song is indeed amazing.

For years, people have struggled to define WT, but have been unsuccessful because they just do not fit into a single genre. So I'm throwing out a new one, designed specifically for them: Cinematic Metal. Nearly every single one of their tracks works so perfectly as part of a film score, including this one. God, I love this band!

So much power, yet Sharon's voice is still lovely. The way they combine electronic trends with rock aesthetic. Twenty-tens was really a great decade for the music. If you compare it with nowadays music, you really feel that something bad happened. I really feel that contemporary music can't compare with how innovatively yet smoothly was twenty-tens music fusing genres.

ignore them. The Undertaker (professional wrestler) officially retired, and WWE used this song as the background music to one of his legacy tribute videos. If anything, it brings some attn to the group and puts some $ in their pockets so that's a positive. The man does have a huge impact though. He was and is pretty awesome. But this.....will die off soon enough. they did the same back during WrestleMania when he used a Metallica song for the theme to his Boneyard match. In fact, anytime WWE uses any songs for anything, they get a bump. so its not all bad. annoying a bit, but not bad.

Came here not because of the Undertaker but beacause of the incredible nice music, WT has done for over 20 years and still does.

The song starts, the yell rings out and every hair on my body stands at attention. As the singing starts, a cold rush of adrenalin surges through my body and the song fills me with renewed hope to keep on fighting the good fight. I wake up every morning having to fight for my life and this song will become my new battle call. Thank you. My favourite band. You never disappoint.
