Try putting it in your mind that it's another turning of the Wheel or a mirror dimension. Once i stopped expecting it to be exactly like the books, it started getting a bit more enjoyable to watch

That it's a different turning of the Wheel is a ridiculous fan theory. If it was a different turning, the characters wouldn't have the same name, there wouldn't be additional ta'veren, the one power would still work the way it was intended to, etc. The only possible canon explanation of it could be a parallel universes that can be reached from the portal stones, but I feel like that is only tainting the story. I would love to see a good rendition of this series on film, but what we've been given is a far cry from that. Rafe did a horrible job with this series. I never expected a completely faithful version, that's nigh impossible with a series this long, but the way they changed some of characters and basically rewrote Jordan's universe is despicable.

I don't understand the purpose of inventing scenes that are not part of the original books and do not advance the story any better than the books. It's fan fiction. It's the hubris of a showrunner who thinks he can write a better story than the one that so popular Amazon is paying him to adapt it to the screen.

Not only did this not happen it completely changes the story and has to be rewritten It’s no wonder Robert Jordan wanted to make a series of these books but never did probably because he refused to give up complete control and once he passed someone takes advantage of the window to completely kill the book

i feel like leeway should be given to live action adaptions of books as they will always fall short one way or the other. Especially for works that are especially intricate as Wheel of time. The best we can hope for is they don't mesh characters.

Ive read the books so mamy times at this point and all i can say for season 2 is... Fantastic! As long as it has the spirit of the WHOLE story im good. So far it has. Lanfear is absolute perfection.

If you've read the books it's an abomination. If you haven't but need character motivations, character arcs, consistency, progression - i.e. setup and payoff, then it's a train wreck. If you watch things for relaxation with your brain mostly turned off, then it can be enjoyable.

I couldn't stand the first 10 minutes of S1 I felt like there was a big betrayal of the spirit of the ideas driving the books every 20 seconds and have instead just reread the series. Just finished so came to see what people are saying about season 2 but it still seems a pale cruelty

It uses the names of some characters and adapts concepts, but it isn't what Jordan and Sanderson worked on. The show, like many modern adaptions, is written by people who hate the source, the fandom, and the idea's presented to tell their own story using the fame of the name backed by a soulless board room who want it to be their Game of Thrones and not Wheel of Time.
