    @White knight Sounds to me like we'd need people dedicated to making certain the pieces stay in the form of ash then. You could appoint 2-3 people for that, and let it be a family thing that runs for generations. How fast would the vamp regenerate before you'd need to roast the pieces again?

    Actually, Detlaff's ability to summon a legion of lesser vampires was described as somewhat unique to him and not something other Higher Vampires would be able to do. This was in conversations between Geralt and Regis as they made their way through the city. I'm sure other Higher Vampires could with some effort replicate the feat, but it just came naturally to Detlaff. Also, at 35:42 you say Regis violates a sacred code of "Witcher Society" when it should have been "Vampire Society."

    TimelineUpdates Yes. This world was originally owned mainly by the Aen Seidhe elves, dwarves and gnomes. Then an event called the Conjuction of spheres happened. It brought unnatural beings and magic in this world eg vampires, ghouls, graveirs and other monsters. It's said by the elves that humans also came during this time. About 1500 years after humans arrived they started expanding rapidly. This is also when the elves started losing some of their land because they were vastly outnumbered by humans due to their ability to reproduce quickly.

Non-human blood would then be the more ethical choice but come with physical weaknesses and cultural burdens. But alas...

While the Witcher games are absolutely epic (I've played all of them, of course), its storytelling for me was never the strong suit in regards to levels of epicness. It really feels like a self contained story that, while sometimes having far reaching decisions tends to boil down to only mattering in the context of the game itself.

    Question - Do you believe Regis was telling the truth about destroying Dettlaff's 'spare' hand? He claims that he destroyed it after using it to brew Resonance, but if that is untrue, Dettlaff could regenerate from that very hand. From how Regis explains it; the regenerating vampire is incredibly weak, even after the regeneration is complete. This would give Regis more than plenty of time to try and calm Dettlaff and help him get over his ex. Return the favor. Thoughts?

  • @yorokobeshounen3492

    That would be a nice way to bring Dettlaff back (even though the possibility of another Witcher game is uncertain for now) without it seeming forced like he just somehow regenerated and personally a outcome where Anna Henrietta and company live happily yet Regis still has his friend and isn't exiled would be pretty neat although nothing ever really works out like that in the witcher universe.

  • @2KXMKR

    @2KXMKR

    6 жыл бұрын

    Iris von Everec Exactly. And a theory as far as muscle memory goes - because the hand wasn't attached to Dettlaff, the regenerate Dettlaff would have no memory of all of the events that took place after him cutting it off and they may not be remembered. It'd still be him, but with a portion of memory missing. If the ending where (enter forgotten girlfriend's name here) is killed, Dettlaff is defeated but everyone else survives, Regis could set Dettlaff straight. He'd still technically be guilty of the murders and attack on the city, but if the regeneration takes 50 years and Regis regenerates him miles away. All would be practically forgotten. Regis would also clear his name within the vampire community too.

    As far as i know Ciry can only travel to worlds that she knows. If that isn't the case she just travels by chance and ends up in some world she didn't know until then. So it would be difficult to find the Vampire-world. Thats the first problem. the second is: Ciris power is a power of the Aen Elle, of the Elder Blood. So Eredin and powerful elven sages are capable of "forcing" Ciri to open gates to other worlds. At least that is what i assume after hearing all the dialogues of the third game. But even if they can't do that: They could rape Ciri und her child would be able to open the gates for them (thats the way they chose in the books). Either way, none of this is possible for the Vampires. the third problem: do they know that Ciri exists? I'm sure the Unseen Elder doesn't know of her existence.. And even if they know of her and think that it is possible to use her power: How do they want to catch her? If she travels to another world it is impossible for the vampires to follow...

    I'm pretty sure Orianna is actually a bruxa in the trailer but the devs changed that later on which is why Regis and Geralt don't state what exactly she is when they have a conversation about her. And it is impossible that she is a bruxa in the game since she not just doesn't respond to Detlaffs call but also has the key to the elders cave and if you try to tell me the elder would give the key to a bruxa that could simply be killed by a random witcher then I don't know what you're smoking.

    There's a game-canon answer to the 'question' of higher vampire classification: "Many experts include alps, mulas, katakans, bruxae, and nekurats as members of this group. These species indeed possess several unique traits not shared by their lesser cousins, and thus are commonly called higher vampires. They are resistant to sunlight and most can mask their true natures and pretend to be human, which aids them in hunting or evading pursuit. Many are also capable of transformation and possess telepathic powers, making them formidable foes. Despite all these abilities, however, they are not true higher vampires."
