We'd certainly never deny there were some problems experienced with some of our earlier cranks. We've gone through several iterations over the years changing materials, designs, etc., and warrantied many cranks that have had issues too. We're not denying any previous issues, but we're trying to show everyone that even to this day we have not just sat back and said "oh well," we've been working on improvements ever since. Our QC process for every crank batch is more in depth than ever, and new designs even get dyno tested on our engine dyno for 4 hours straight at WOT.

Well, Im glad you guys are actively trying to fix the issues. I noticed the video even addressed the keyway issues people have had. When I went looking for a crankshaft, I noticed the search terms "wiseco crank problems" and "pro x crank problems" yielded completely different search results. So, when my Pro X crank box showed up with a wiseco black rod crank in it, I wasnt thrilled. Luckily Alex got it taken care of and now the Pro X crank is in my new RM 250 motor waiting for its first start.

I had just done a full rebuild on a cr 125. The bike ran amazing but I just hit 3.5 hours and I blew the bearing in the wiesco crank midair on a table. Barely rode away from it. It was an older crank I orderd it roughly a year ago, the bike took awhile to get running because I was fully restoring it. Just a disappointment that it only lasted 3.5 hours. Hopefully the newer cranks are better now !

Wiseco should have partnered with a kart motor manufacturer when they started making cranks. Kart cranks run really fast, and the mfgs really know how to make crank assemblies. You NEVER hear about crank issues with any European kart motor mfgs.

China. Been manufacturing there for over a decade. That's why I wouldn't recommend. Tolerance issues, and flat out bad quality. Plenty of videos here showing massive runout tolerance, and other problems.

@@georgesrisomsak9650 Chinese contract mfgs will meet whatever tolerances you specify. This is where people get into trouble. If you do not specify a key tolerance or geometric relationship, then all bets are off. Where US designers really get into trouble is when they make assumptions about "standards". There are no standards with the Chinese, except for what you establish in your manufacturing prints and specs. As long as you remember that, you can get any quality you want.

Second rebuild in a year for my 01 cr250 now. whatever crank u guys sent me last time lasted about 40 hours then blew a hole in the side of one of the crank half’s, then took out my cylinder and head in the proses. Hot rods got my money this time…. Sorry not sorry 🤷‍♂️ will stand by your pistons tho even after meeting the peaces of your glass made crank it still didn’t look half bad 😂

We do offer clutch baskets actually, we forge them in-house and they come with a lifetime warranty. What bike are you looking for one for?

I would NEVER run a wiesco crankshaft. They come apart in the trx250r. Many other replacement wiesco cranks come apart on other engines too. Ask how I know. I went back with the rebuilt JAPANESE OEM original crank after a balance, rebuild and welding of the tin shell. I have hundreds of hours of abuse on a drag ported, ultra high revving drag engine. Never again will I recommend or use a wiesco crank. On the flip side, their pistons are awesome, and I run those exclusively. How their cranks can suck so bad, and the pistons are top notch is crazy. Hit and miss with this company. OEM reworked cranks, or bust. Just my personal experience on one machine. I have other experiences with this brand of failed cranks on other machines, that were resolved with going back to OEM and reworking the stock units that are far superior in quality.
