A long awaited update to the beloved 125cc premix-burner from Yamaha finally came to two-stroke lovers with the 2022 YZ125, so what does that mean for us? Well, if you're riding a 125 like it should be (wide open), chances are you'll need to do a top end sooner rather than later.
A nod to 80+ years of 2-stroke manufacturing experience, we don't want to just copy an OEM part and call it a day. We talked to key players in our development of our new, '22 YZ125 piston design in the three major steps: Engineering, Testing (thanks to @dirtbiketv1), and Development.

We've been building 125 2-stroke pistons basically since they've existed! Performance and technology has evolved over the years, but the process of engineering, testing, and developing still applies! And of course, manufacturing 100% in the USA. Long live 2-strokes! 💨

I rebuilt my first engine when I was 11 in 6th grade (98 Kawasaki kx80) completely by myself after watching my dad do it multiple times. We always used wiseco piston and rings

Always love your pistons when I do rebuilds, is that coating called stellight coating? I'm probably spelling that wrong but I feel safer knowing you guys are thinking above and beyond for longevity. Even after 8 hard hours that piston was in great shape
Yz125 oem seems to work fine also, 05-21 anyway.
Oh ! The only things who are new in the yz 125 2022....🙋🤦
